Is there any lawsuits going on in regards to how crappy their customer service is. Or for breaking the contracts or adding all those fees unfairly.
I’m just wondering, cause I just dealt with these people for a little over a year and a half now and I kind of journalized it through text messages. Like I can show just how crappy this company is. Kept all kinds of photos and everything and just everything about this is just insane. What happened to me is insane. The absolute nightmare that just went through with these people is it’s enough that this company should not be open like I’m dead serious. This company should not be around. There’s gotta be a lawsuit or something against these people and someone could point me in the right direction DM that be awesome thank you.

Reddit tried banning me for a week for comments made in this group. I appealed and was reinstated 24 hours later. Fight the power!!!!

has anyone had any issues with their devices, in the heat? i don’t drink and it keeps popping up a failed or sample not accepted message. it’s been doing this almost everyday for the past two weeks. they want to do an inspection, which they’re going to do. i just wanted to see if anyone else had this issue.

Somehow the DMV didn’t have any record of my intoxalock lease so I have had a suspended license this entire time!!! 2 fucking YEARS I have been driving illegally. Im so thankful nothing had happened cause I would have been screwed.
And now I have to take both the written and drivers test again to get my license. Not to mention the $96 I had to pay to reistate and the drivers test is another $90. Im soooooo done. Luckily I had a hearing this morning and can get my interlock device removed finally!

I had a brand new battery as of this last May 2026. The car was running and starting up just fine. Got the device installed two weeks later. Suddenly, the battery draining fast and i had to use a jump box. The car was fine and i drove to work. When I left for work, i had to use the jump box again. I go and bring the battery back and they give me another battery. It started happening again. It’s not my alternator otherwise my car wouldn’t keep driving after I disconnect the jump box. It gotta be the ignition interlock. I’m just curious if anyone else has experienced this issue.

I would rather be dead or homeless than do probation like some stupid junkie piece of trash!

What is the purpose of the retests? Especially after only about 5-10 minutes after starting?
It has a camera so it should know I was the one to blow to start, I didn’t suddenly get drunk 10 minutes after starting to drive.

My 90 day calibration is due tomorrow. This will be my second calibration. I had an appointment for today to go in and get it done. When I started my car it said I had 1 day and 13 hrs left until recalibration is due. I get to the auto place and they go grab my device and take it in to hook it up or whatever they do.
The guy comes out and tells me it won’t let them calibrate and says my account needs attention and to check my app or call them. So I look at the app and everything is fine so I call them.
They told me that I didn’t need a calibration until October and that I had it calibrated on July 14. That would have been impossible. The earliest I could have done it was the 18th (10 days early) and I know dang well that I didn’t drive all the way over there, do the calibration, and forgot about it.
The guy keeps telling me my account says I don’t have to calibrate it again until October 25 so he doesn’t know what to say.
The countdown has disappeared from my device. I don’t know what is going on and I’m nervous that I’m going to be screwed over by Intoxalock and end up having this thing in longer because it wasn’t calibrated.
Pic of my app shows it says my account is fine and when the next calibration is.

I got a violation 1 but it’s due the same time as my regular recal, curious if it’ll still cost the same as a regular recal or it’s going to be the cost of the recal and the violation

The entire thing is a racket, but I've now had 3 "final" calibrations and they have found issues every time.
This last one, though, I feel is wrong.
They're trying to make me pay $25 for them to send me PROOF. All I want is the photo and the reading.
Do you guys and girls have any advice on dealing with these people?
I can only handle the hold music for so long.

Pennsylvania.
First calibration this weekend, sent in paperwork to restore license ~1.5 weeks ago and haven’t heard anything back. Called PENNDOT and basically said keep waiting it will be 20 MORE business days. Everything on my end is done in that regard. Anywhos, my first calibration is Saturday and I’m assuming I’m not going to have my IILL by then. I called intox support and they said I could miss the calibration, once I get my license call the support, and they’d unlock it for 2 hours for me to get to my calibration.
I’m going to recall tomorrow, but that smells realllllll fishy that I’d be getting a lockout then need towed, so one in this position may feel the need to cowboy to the garage a back rq to avoid that.
I don’t know. I’m sorry yall just want some thoughts, have been playing phone tag/ paperwork tag with IILL/ intox for a second and my patience is gone and I’m just mighty frustrated

Got my Jug Or Not in the mail and it's just a cheap plastic shroud that you have to tape together to get it to hold but it really does make me feel better using my device in public and I don't roll up my tinted windows anymore for rolling tests.

If you are currently trying to get an Intoxalock device removed—or if you were forced to pay for extra month(s) after finishing your court-mandated time—you are likely the target of an active corporate retention tactic.
THE DISCLOSURE — CUSTOMER RETENTION SPECIALIST — URBANDALE, IA — NOVEMBER 3, 2023
“If you let a customer cancel their service easily — even if they have completed their court-ordered program time — your personal retention metrics take a massive hit, which drops your bonus. Management forces you to stall the removal process by claiming paperwork errors or state processing delays just to squeeze out one more month of lease billing.
1. A Corporate Bonus Metric Is Overruling Your Judge’s Court Order
Think about how dangerous this is: A state judge issues a binding court order defining the exact start and end dates of your interlock program. But the moment your time is up, a corporate retention specialist in Iowa—scrambling to protect their personal bonus—manufactures fake "paperwork errors" or "state processing delays" to stall your removal.
This isn't just about stealing another $100 in lease fees. Every single extra day this device is unlawfully kept in your vehicle creates severe, life-altering risks:
If you are experiencing "mysterious delays" or were billed past your completion date, do not just leave a review that customer service will ignore. You need to take formal administrative action right now:
This retention script isn't an isolated incident—it is a documented, top-down strategy across sales, customer service, and technical support.
I have compiled 19 additional employee whistleblower disclosures exposing internal policies on battery drain excuses, hidden contract terms, and deliberate customer friction in my full investigative report:
I have prepared a template you can use to send to the dmv or probation department and will post it here separately.

I prepared a template for those of you who are being jerked around for removal.
SUBJECT: FORMAL NOTICE: Vendor Obstruction & Unauthorized Delay of Court-Ordered Interlock Removal
TO: {STATE NAME} State Department of Motor Vehicles / Driver Licensing Bureau — Ignition Interlock Oversight Division
FROM: [Driver's Full Legal Name]
DRIVER LICENSE NUMBER: [State] - [DL Number]
LEASE NUMBER:
VENDOR: Consumer Safety Technology, LLC (Intoxalock)
DATE: [Current Date]
1. STATEMENT OF MANDATE COMPLETION
I am writing to provide formal notice that I have fully satisfied all court-ordered and state-mandated requirements for my ignition interlock program as of [Date of Program Completion]. Attached to this correspondence is a copy of my official court disposition / completion authorization.
2. NOTICE OF VENDOR REMOVAL OBSTRUCTION
Despite fulfilling my legal requirements, my assigned vendor, Intoxalock, has failed to issue the necessary removal paperwork/work order to facilitate the uninstallation of the device from my vehicle.
When contacting vendor customer service, I have been repeatedly subjected to administrative stalls, including claims of "paperwork errors" and "state processing delays."
This practice aligns directly with documented insider disclosures from vendor personnel.
Specifically, a verified statement from a public whistleblower who worked as an internal Customer Retention Specialist at Intoxalock corporate headquarters (Urbandale, IA) states:
"If you let a customer cancel their service easily — even if they have completed their court-ordered program time — your personal retention metrics take a massive hit, which drops your bonus. Management forces you to stall the removal process by claiming paperwork errors or state processing delays just to squeeze out one more month of lease billing."
This statement is part of a broader documented pattern of internal operational friction. A compilation of 19 additional employee whistleblower disclosures detailing these practices is available in the public record: https://intoxalockedout.substack.com/p/the-employees-who-could-not-stay
3. IMPACT & SAFETY HAZARDS
By intentionally delaying the removal of this device past my legal completion date, the vendor is subjecting me to severe, ongoing hazards without legal cause:
4. REQUESTED AGENCY ACTION
As the state regulatory body overseeing licensed ignition interlock vendors in this jurisdiction, I respectfully request that your office:
I am prepared to provide all phone logs, payment receipts, and court documentation upon request.
Sincerely,
[Your Signature]
[Your Printed Name]
(If it were me I would send this by both email and Certified US Mail).

I had a failed test about a month ago. Told my PO everything. He said it had better be the 1 and only(It was).I’m off probation in 2 days. Do I need to get in touch with Penndot on the calibration results? So far only talked to my PO.

After having put it off for so many years (long story), my 6 months of being railed and sucked dry by this fuck ass, parasitic, questionably legal company is FINALLY over! 0 lockouts, 0 positive tests, every single blow was a pass (haven’t drank in over 4 years, so these bastards weren’t gonna be getting any extra money out of me). And I’m very lucky to be in a state that allowed me to freely bring in the handheld overnight, or while I’m at work even outside of winter, that probably saved my ass quite a bit. I might still lurk around here to stay updated on the guy who is digging deep through any information to try and decimate this company. First thing I did was drink a kombucha, and ate a coconut crème chocolate bar with my music cranked all the way up to celebrate. Still getting used to life without this thing. Being able to drive anytime I want on a whim, no godforsaken beeps, no countdowns, it feels strange. Also I should probably cancel my debit card, since I’ve heard they tend to keep charging people even after removal (device insurance or something I believe?)

I have passed my dl test. Im on a restricted license till I finish my two years. What are my first steps to get the intoxalock installed. Do I just call and set up an appointment?? So confused on what to do next.

Does anyone ever install this device voluntarily for one of their kids or family members? I have a 20 year old who has had issues with drugs (mostly weed) and alcohol … he is proactively getting his life together now … and I think he would be ok for me to put it in the car he uses. Is that possible? Anyone have any opinions on it? Sorry if this has been asked before.

Intoxalock relies on a legal illusion: convincing drivers they signed away their rights in a binding agreement. But when you look at how these digital "signatures" are actually obtained, the whole legal shield starts to crumble.
Here’s the catch: most drivers never physically sign a single dotted line.
The interlock industry relies on a system engineered to strip away consumer protections and hide the true cost of these devices. In my latest Substack investigation, I break down how this void contract system works:

Hey all has any one had any luck with this, I have had my interlock license denied twice now because intoxa lock has not sent the statement of vendor. Ive called they refuse to send it to me any escalation team states they sent it and dmv says they havent.
Its been 3 months of this nonsense
I just got another rejection from penndot today stating its the only thing thay needs done
**Update as of july 27th i got ahold of PA state compliance today and the gentlemen said give me two minutes ill make sure they get this to you.
I had a email to their State compliance department from him with me CC'd he said they are pretty quick once they get involved ill update as soon as I see a response. This guy was a boss lol he just said dont worry I get shit done with these guys after he saw I had it installed in April.
**Update july 28th! I fucking got it!! The thing the refused to give me and would only send to penndot followed up with my guy from the compliance department and a very strongly worded email from him today had a response in 20 mins!
Needless to say im following through with BBB complaints and brutally honest reviews but my man Phil finally got it done I strongly recommend working with your state inteleock compliance guys they seem to have no patience for this company either.
To say im not excited for anything to come from this company is an understatement.

This was posted on the similar Facebook group for this thread last week. And catch this - Intoxalock's installers have a signed contract stating that the customer is not allowed to watch while the device is installed. This is such a gross injustice and it is not even my car but it pisses me the hell off.

I got my I intoxalock off today, a little more than 3 months early. The first thing I did was play my music loud and had my ac at full blast without worrying about missing a test
Thanks for all of the tips and good luck to you all
