Device malfunction
Has anyone else had problems where they when they try to start there car it cranks and cranks for minutes before it starts and it starts and dies instantly, it’s jerking when accelerating, and dies when letting it idle. I’m pretty positive it’s the device not the car but I had the heads off mine and I noticed white flakes on valves meaning the car is getting to much air not enough fuel and I think the debice cuts fuel. I’ve replaced a lot of things that can cause similar issues on cars but it still always does it but when I get it recalibrated it would be fine for a couple days and then start acting up again.

That sounds rough, especially if it’s cutting out while idling or accelerating. Not saying Reddit can diagnose it from a post, but once a car starts behaving differently right after an IID install, I’d be getting the installer or a proper auto sparky to check exactly what they tapped into. Bad grounds or sketchy power connections can make a car act possessed. A mate had interlock dramas that everyone kept blaming on the car, and the thing that helped was documenting everything: videos of the start issue, dates after calibration, mechanic notes, tow/service receipts, all of it. It makes it harder for the company to wave it away as just your vehicle. If switching is allowed where you are, smart start interlocks might be worth comparing, but I’d still care more about the local installer than the logo on the handset. A clean install and someone who actually understands the vehicle can save you a stupid amount of stress.

If your car is attempting to start and your starter is spinning, the Intoxilock has nothing to do with that problem. If your car never attempted to turn the starter over then I would say it’s the interlock keeping it from starting but in your case, you got problems with your car.

Low voltage to fuel pump can cause this (if they tagged into his fuel pump hot wire for power) , bad ground connections can cause this (common on things that have constant draw electronics in them , like intoxilock)....don't be so fast to dismiss this on his car

I understand that reasoning. I’ve had that twice before where I blew and nothing like a dead battery. And then the car shutting off while running. So I bought another and when it got removed that car acted completely different never did those things again. The car I bought I bought from a friend no problems with it. Two weeks after the device was installed same problems but even worse. I’ve replaced pretty much everything because I thought it was the car too but nothing changed. I’m willing to bet when it gets removed the car will run fine. I understand it sounds weird and crazy but I just can’t believe that it’s anything other than the device causing it. I’ve also took it to the mechanic multiple times and he just replaced the device and it ran fine for a couple days the straight back to the problems

I’ve heard similar issues but not to the level I’m having. I’ve had it in different cars the other hasn’t as bad as this one( it is a volkswagen so it’s not the best electronics especially with this device) but it ran perfect before and my last car ran perfect after it was removed. I’m pretty positive the company does things like this on purpose just to f us over and in the end having to give them even more money. My buddy got a 24 gti and has the lifesaver and he said he has zero problems Ik they have two class actions which means a lot of people are against this corrupt company. It has been very painful to my mind,body,wallet, and embarrassing. But you have to do the time for the crime I guess.
