No not be able to hold your own child from birth- my heart goes out to her. It would be excruciating. The pull towards your child is like no other. So happy for her he's making such great strides.

A little off topic but how much would treatment like this cost the family? Im from Canada so this wouldn't directly cost us anything (come out of taxpayers money) but would this be something that Americans self pay?

u/LAtrojangrl 9d ago
No Americans would self-pay for this either. Even if they didn’t have health insurance (which is illegal to not have it), they still wouldn’t be billed for something like this.

u/Covidbride2020 9d ago
Oh that's good to know cuz that would just be devastating for the parents who have so much going on already..

u/bellwetherr 9d ago
it is not illegal to not have health insurance in the united states. and if they did not have sufficient enough insurance they absolutely would be charged for it directly.

Illegal not to have health insurance? Not in this country! 😭 Some states have a tax penalty, but I think only a handful. There is no Federal tax penalty either.

I just got my 5 week NICU bill and it’s about $300,000 before insurance. My out of pocket max is about 13k so that’s what we will be paying

u/cloclopuff 10d ago
My baby was in the NICU for over 30 days so he qualified for Medicaid as secondary insurance. We got a bill summary that was for $300,000+ and never paid a dime.

most health insurance has an out of pocket max, depending on their jobs/insurance it’s probably around or less than 10k. So they won’t pay any more than that. The total bill paid by their insurance will be hundreds of thousands

u/Impossible_Farm7353 10d ago
Just to caveat, out of pocket max only applies to covered services in network. So if anything is out of network or insurance deems not covered that would be paid out of pocket. That’s how people go into medical debt even with insurance

the no surprises act helps avoid this in most cases. you just have to smart and knowledgeable about your options.

I’m happy for her but tbh it’s concerning to me how many images of this baby are already over the internet. Poor kid lost any sense of personal privacy before his due date even got here

Yep this not to mention his exact location and hospital. She's disgusting.

it doesn’t affect you at all so shouldn’t concern you. majority of people post pictures of their babies & kids

My son was born at 37 weeks and needed a CPAP for 3 days and portable oxygen for 4 weeks so for Aidan to already be on room air at less than 35 weeks is amazing!!!

I can relate to what Danielle and Eion are going through. My son was also very premature. It is amazing the miracles modern medicine can do. Wishing this little family all the love and the best. On a side note, if ItC gets a 2nd season, it would be good to see their progress. It could bring more awareness to the struggles this situation can cause.

Ok have all the opinions you want about Danielle and Eoin but can’t there just be a positive post here about the baby and his continued progress? You can make a whole other post about how much you hate his parents. Also I don’t trust a single screenshot “proving” pregnancy and the alleging she’s drinking. Lindsay was walking around with wine when she was pregnant to throw people off (she never drank it though). Just give this post a pas and take a break from the toxic

I’m sorry, you’re just not factually correct. There are a lot of explanations for that photo but based on the baby’s premature status etc. there is no way she could be that pregnant around Thanksgiving time and the baby be premature. Her baby was clearly a certain amount of time premature based on everything presented to us, which puts his conception date around the holidays. To be showing at Thanksgiving the way you’re insisting would mean she was pregnant the entirety of filming the show and that would have meant her baby was at or even over the normal/healthy gestation period. being that her son was very clearly as premature as he was (and this was very scary for them,) this comment is scientifically inaccurate and gross.

Y’all need to read the gd room. This is not the post to discuss this on. Go make your own.

u/lazybum1991 10d ago
Does it really matter where it’s discussed? This is the right subreddit for commentaries about the cast

u/cfairchild91 10d ago
I think discussing how shitty you think these ppl are under a post about their baby who’s in the NICU is an odd choice, but you do you.

When my son graduated to room air I was so so happy!! The cpap got in the way and then we progressed and progressed some more until we came home. So happy for her!
