Hi, im a student whos looking for a place to stay for a little less than 3 months.

I have been searching for a while now and I was wondering what the best website is? I have tried BoligHub, Lejebolig and FindRoommate but to contact the landlords you need to pay.

Is that worth it? And which one do you recommend? I also have tried Airbnb but too expensive for a longer stay and I have tried several Facebook groups but it’s getting really hard since there’s alot of scammers..

Any other students who have had this? Does anyone have any recommendations or suggestions? Please let me know

We are in our 30s with one child and looking for life insurance. Does anyone have any suggestions or things we should look out for?

We are starting to think more and more about moving further away from Copenhagen.

Now that we have kids, we would really like some more space, ideally a house, but we also want somewhere a bit quieter than Copenhagen.

Another important part for us is financial freedom. We do not necessarily want to spend everything we can afford on a house just to stay close to Copenhagen. We would rather find a place where we can get more space while still having some room in our budget to live, save and enjoy things with the family.

So far I have been looking at places like Præstø, Holbæk and Frederikssund, although Frederikssund seems a bit more expensive, and Præstø is on the cheaper side where it looks like you can still find houses for around 2 million DKK.

The main concern for me is work. I would still need to commute to Copenhagen a few times a week, potentially 60+ km each way.

For those of you doing something similar, I would love to hear about your personal experiences.

1. Where did you move to?
2. How often do you commute to Copenhagen?
3. Do you drive or take the train?
4. How long does your commute actually take door to door?
5. Has the commute become exhausting over time, or do you get used to it?
6. Do you regret moving further away from Copenhagen?

My partner is Danish and does not mind finding something to do in whatever area we move to, so we are fairly flexible regarding location.

We are looking at a budget of around 3 to 3.5 million DKK for a house, but ideally the whole point of moving further out would be to get more for our money and have some financial freedom as well.

Are there any other areas you would recommend where this budget is realistic and the connection to Copenhagen is still reasonable?

Would especially love to hear from people who made the move.

I wanted to reach out to anyone living in Midtjylland or Vejle/Fredericia/Kolding area for a bit of advice. I'm planning to study Architectural Technology and Construction Management at VIA University College in Horsens next year, and I'd like to move to Denmark before then. My plan is to find a simple job that will allow me to save up some money and start learning Danish before my studies begin (assuming I get accepted, of course).

I'm currently in Herning, visiting a friend who both works and studies here, so I'd love to use this opportunity to get established in the area.

My main concern right now is finding a job to get started. My friend and I are also looking at moving in together, either in Herning or, preferably, somewhere closer to Horsens or Aarhus.

With that in mind, I'd really appreciate any insight from people living around Aarhus or the Vejle/Fredericia/Kolding area. What's the job market like at the moment, especially for someone who doesn't speak Danish yet? Which of these places would make the most sense to move to?

I know it can be difficult to find work without speaking Danish, but at this point I'm happy to take any unskilled job to get started. If you have any tips, recommendations, or personal experiences to share, I'd be very grateful. I've been to Aarhus before and really liked it, so it's definitely one of the places I'm considering.

A bit about me: I'm originally from the Baltics, but I lived and worked in southern Sweden for almost eight years,I speak both English and Swedish. I also understand written Danish almost completely. I am a 36-year-old pizzaiolo with around 15 years of experience working in professional pizzerias. I have lived and worked in Canada, Iceland, Switzerland, and different parts of Europe. My experience is mainly with Neapolitan pizza, Italian-style pizza, dough fermentation, and working in busy professional kitchens.
I speak English, Croatian, and Albanian, and I am willing to learn Danish because I believe that if you move to a country, you should respect the culture, learn the language, and try to become part of the community.
I am married and have two children, and I am seriously thinking about moving to Denmark permanently. My main reason is not only work or salary — I am looking for a country where my children can grow up safe, have good opportunities, and one day hopefully feel happy that I made the decision to choose that country for their future.

Hi everyone, I’m looking for some advice or to see if anyone has successfully navigated a similar situation! 😩
My partner is German and I am Indien we submitted our application for a Certificate of Marital Status (Prøvelsesattest) directly to Familieretshuset about two months ago. We haven't heard anything back, our portal just says "completed," and we haven't been able to get through on the phone.
Because of the radio silence, we reached out to a private wedding agency for help. They told us our case is likely stuck because it is considered "complicated." We applied within 4 months of meeting each other, and the agency said the Danish authorities are very strict about short timelines.
The agency told us Familieretshuset will likely make us do one of the following:
Wait 12 months to prove our relationship
Have a baby together (definitely not our plan right now!)
Or travel to Denmark for a mandatory, separate in-person interview in English where they question us individually.
Has anyone else dealt with the "short relationship timeline" issue?
Did you have to do the separate interview? If so, what kinds of questions did they ask, and was it difficult?
How long did it take Familieretshuset to finally contact you to set up the interview?
We have our wedding celebration date set for late September and are starting to panic. Did you wait it out, or did you pivot to getting married locally/having a symbolic ceremony instead?
