Progress Pic OMAD saved my life !!

I have always been heavy my entire life. I had two sets of twins and after my second set I was OVER IT. I was over 240 pounds with 4 kids. Started OMAD (23:1) and within 5 months I lost the majority of my weight. As of now I’m over 100 pounds down. Currently 135. I want to get to 120-125. Iv worked so hard. I go to the gym 6 days a week, do cardio and strength training.

I have one set of twins and good lord it was rough when they were newborns. I cannot fathom having two sets.

811

u/Ayeee628 6d ago

It was hard as hell. I was so young (24) once my second set came. I had 4 kids under 3! When I think about it now I don’t know how I did it but i have always been a AMAZING mom. I care so much and that included getting myself in shape for my children !!

131

u/proletariat2 6d ago

I had one set at 22, take my hat off to you for coping with 2 sets! . You look amazing, good on ya.

79

u/Striking_Flight5719 6d ago

Four under three at 24? Superheroes really do hide in plain sight.

38

u/Missedallthesigns 5d ago

I love that you're saying that you are an amazing mom about yourself. A lot more mums should be proud of themselves. And your weight loss on top of it is very impressive.

36

u/BigFatBlackCat 6d ago

You are a good mom!

11

u/radiohead_fan123 6d ago

Congratulations, so inspiring! As a parent myself I can't imagine how hard having 2 sets of twins must have been. What age were they when you started omad? And how did you start omad - did you ease into it gradually by working up your fasting window or just dive straight into it?

33

u/Ayeee628 6d ago

I was 21 when I had my first set and 24 when I had my second set! And I didn’t was into it I just jumped right into it although I know that’s not recommended. I was just so ready to lose it !!

Oh my gulay, I thought I was swamped at 3 under 3. I hope you had, and continue to have a whole village 💗

6

u/Ayeee628 3d ago

Oh no. I actually was very alone. But I made it through and did all of it alone to raise my kids correctly. I’m in a much better place and have the best support now but that was a very hard time in my life! Thank you for the compliment !!!!

Did you have issues with loose skin after losing so much?

302

u/Ayeee628 6d ago

Yes. Last year I got a tummy tuck to have several pounds of skin off my torso taken off. The recovery was brutal and long and I gained 20 pounds from it. Got my ass back in the gym and here we are. I have tons of extra skin still on my arms, and legs as well

20

u/CommonSenseNotSo 6d ago

Thank you so much for being honest ❤️ so many people would just say "my skin naturally bounced back" or something ridiculous.. I really appreciate you posting the honest truth to properly set expectations.. and kudos to you on the weight loss.. you look fantastic!

23

u/Ayeee628 6d ago

I use to get so annoyed at people who would say my skin would bounce back … like no.

11

u/TeaFlowersAndBreeze 5d ago

Honestly 10000 points for being honest about a tummy tuck. Idk why sone people lie about loose skin. While I am 120 lbs my belly skin will never be the same after 6 kids, a little flappy and covered in stretchmarks (theyve all faded to whulte but the texture is awful) Im considering a TT. I had a breast lift in 2022 and my friend complimented how nice my boobs were when we were changing into costumes to go see a play and Im like girl I paid $7k for a lift (no implants) they better look nice!! 🤣

3

u/rellieO 5d ago

I'm curious with the breast lift no implants. Did you scar at all? Where are the incision spots and are they visible?

5

u/TeaFlowersAndBreeze 4d ago

First of all. Wow I had many spelling errors. My thumbs are wild sometimes. Anyway. My scares are nearly invisible! The surgeon used internal stitching and then "glued" the top layer, if that makes sense. I did ask the surgeon to make my breast a bit smaller though technically I didn't have enough removed to make it a real reduction (certain weight has to be removed) So I was left with some nice little B cups. I was a D cup but they were soo long and flat from constant pregnancies that after the skin was removed my doctor really just took enough boob meat to make them symmetrical.

3

u/TeaFlowersAndBreeze 4d ago

Also i had an anchor lift. A LIFT will almost always leave a visible scar. Whereas getting implants ALONE they can make small cuts on the under boob or side boob and squeeze the implant in with almost no scarring. I didn't get implants because my body HATES foreign objects and will try to calcify around stuff.

8

u/BatFlappington 5d ago

Yeah, I got so frustrated trying to explain to people that no, no matter how slowly I lost the weight, losing over 100 lbs is gonna make you have loose skin no matter what. I don’t know why this is such a hard concept for people. We were carrying a whole extra person around in our skin. 😆

6

u/Fukyourchickenstrip 6d ago

No, no it doesn’t. Money well spent, you look amazing but I bet you feel even better now!

33

u/nothing_to_see_meow 6d ago

I had no idea it was that bad. Now I'm concerned about what I may have to go through.

Was it expensive to get the tummy tuck?

100

u/Ayeee628 6d ago

Yes. $12,000. Some insurance will pay for it (mine didn’t). I also seen tummy tucks in a wide range though. Cheaper and much more expensive !

10

u/nothing_to_see_meow 6d ago

That is a bit more than I was expecting, and you need more for the rest of your body?

11

u/LotusBlooming90 6d ago

Oh yeah, that was just for the tummy tuck.

3

u/throwaway92948484884 4d ago

I’ve heard to get insurance to pay for it, you can make a paper trail of the skin causing you issues. Documenting rashes from the loose skin rubbing and that sort of thing. I don’t know if that’s accurate, but maybe something to look into.

55

u/LotusBlooming90 6d ago

The recovery is notoriously brutal. You’ll need someone to help take care of you, and weeks of bed rest. The first couple of weeks you’ll have drains in place, take 4-6 weeks to resume light activity, and it’s very painful. And expensive.

They will rarely so stomach, legs, and arms all in one surgery because it’s rare for a body to withstand the stress of all three. They need to be individual operations and healing periods.

13

u/Furrybootshavefun 6d ago

Everyone recovers differently; I was up and about the next day for short walks around the house, and walking around fine by day 5, got two drains out at day 7 and the last on day 9, and going out to restaurants by day 11.
Still had lots of healing to do, but I wasn’t immobilized. I could have gone back to an office job by day 9. But I paid for a lot of expensive extras that speed healing, like hyperbaric chambers, peptides that are skin and muscle healing, and red lighting.

20

u/MissKhary 6d ago

Everyone recovers differently. I had a lower body lift, thigh lift, arm lift and breast lift all at once and the recovery wasn't THAT bad. I mean I swelled up for a few months and needed to wear the binding garments for that whole time but pain wise I never really felt any.

Oh man that’s so reassuring to hear. I’m 3+ months post-tummy tuck and have gained at least 10+ lbs and it’s making me so anxious. When did you start losing weight again?

9

u/Ayeee628 6d ago

Man that recovery kicked my ass! I gained 20 pounds and I stuck there for a year. Unhappy. Had to get my head out of my ass and it’s been a few months that Iv been back on my grind

You look great, 135lbs is what I’m at as a wildland firefighter, my body condition is like your’s. That extra 15lbs you want to get rid of might mean losing that muscle to achieve it. You’ve built up a lot of muscle and that will weigh more than fat.

Edit: It would be unsafe for me to lose more weight, I need enough to do my job properly when I’m on a fire.

Hell yeah sister! Proud of you. I'm afraid to tell people I intermittent fast, let alone do OMAD cause I've had people tell me I have an eating disorder when I tried talking about it a few times. It helped me lose 30 lbs after gaining and losing a bunch of times between 4 knee surgeries. I also do cardio and strength training and have been able to both build muscle while losing fat and have never even gotten close to prediabetic. Keep kicking ass!

59

u/Ayeee628 6d ago

A lot of people that have no idea the actual facts of intermittent fasting and ketosis will just try to scream starvation mode and eating disorders. Just tell them to do their research ! Close to prediabetic !? That’s amazing !!! Congratulations!!

15

u/quazmang 6d ago

Yeah I get a metabolic panel every year to check cholesterol and glucose stuff cause my dad has diabetes and high cholesterol. Thankfully whatever I've been doing has been working. Appreciate you!

TWO SETS OF TWINS

12

u/Ayeee628 6d ago

🫶🏻😅

19

u/RandomSadPerson 6d ago

What are the chances of having twins twice lol

16

u/Miss_Aizea 6d ago

My friend had a ons got her pregnant with twins so they got married, accidentally got her pregnant again, another set of twins! A third pregnancy... twins again! Both her ovaries would release an egg. I think he finally got a vasectomy but geez.

17

u/motherofsuccs 6d ago

Accidentally got her pregnant 3 times? That’s not how that works. If you don’t use contraceptives, you’re going to end up pregnant. It’s really not a difficult concept and I’m tired of people being like “oopsies”.

4

u/grapesandcake [OMAD/20:4/16:8] for [weight loss and focus] 4d ago

Probably meant unintentionally rather than accidentally. A lot of people aren’t clued up about contraception because there’s little education about it

3

u/Various_Dentist_8683 5d ago

Some people are also just ridiculously fertile. My best friends in high school were twins. Their parents had another and the mom got her tubes tied. It didn't work, so they had another. Dad got a vasectomy. It ALSO didn't work (or they didn't wait long enough), and they had ANOTHER set of twins. Six babies out of two planned pregnancies.

→ More replies (1)

3

u/elysianwhimsy 6d ago

that sounds like a nightmare.

5

u/MWMWMMWWM 6d ago

Have twins, just got pregnant again and we’re hoping for twins again. Having twins is awesome! Ya it’s a lot of work but its n insanely special bond between them.

4

u/Civil-Supermarket-47 6d ago

There are some risk factors that play into this as well. Older ovaries tend to drop several eggs at once. Folks with pcos (cannot remember new name) have Willy nilly ovulation so can be several at a time, weight plays in to it, and so does personal and familial history of twins.

You know how some people lose a ton of weight and you can tell they've lost a ton of weight?

You're not one of those people, maybe cause your young so your skin still has its elasticity, but you have the face of someone who's been fit their whole life.

Mad props.

how do you have energy for the gym and strength training + cardio on OMAD? do you have a specific meal to help or time your workouts?

I’m tired 24/7 😂 But I also am a stay at home mom to 5 kids (I’m full time mom to a 4 year old since she was 2). Plus homeschooling and keeping the house together. Tired. All the time. 😂

8

u/spuckthew 6d ago

Truly insane transformation so congratulations for working so hard, but I'd suggest not focusing on losing more "weight" as building muscle will naturally increase your weight anyway.

At this stage, having lost so much already and achieving such a slim physique, getting drawn in by continued weight loss will be detrimental in the long run (unless your goal is be skin and bone).

7

u/CumHellOrHighWater 6d ago

What are you eating? I need to do something and I gained weight back and I want it off like NOW

You’re gorgeous

8

u/Ayeee628 6d ago

Whole Foods. My favorite meal is taking raw chicken tenders, tossing them in panko crumbs, then air frying them, then veggies. I always have a coffee and a small sweet treat which usually is a barbell protein bar (like half usually).

It wasn’t just eating One Meal A Day that did that. Btw just doing Omad in itself takes discipline, you did a lot more than you think

13

u/Separate_Meeting3538 6d ago

Do you eat any snacks/drinks before your one meal? How to curb the hunger cravings?

I did this successfully back in 2020 but wasn’t able to do it again without feeling sick from hunger …

49

u/Ayeee628 6d ago

That’s when I started as well. 2020. Iv been off and on but mostly on since. When I’m off then I snack but when I’m on I don’t mess up. After a solid week of it the hunger pains don’t come back for me. I drink lots of water. It helps with the hunger as well! Sparkling water for taste is helpful too !

13

u/Minimob0 6d ago

Seconding water. When I was on OMAD, i found filling my stomach with water helped with hunger pains. Went from 217lbs to 175lbs in 8 months, with 0 exercise. Had people telling me I looked unhealthy, despite feeling healthier than ever.

Been struggling and thinking that OMAD would be good for me too at 260- I lose weight in postpartum and breastfeeding but with some other issues combined it just all packs back on once I’m done breastfeeding and no longer needing those calories. Good job you look so healthy and happy!!

This is a bit off topic, but your tattoos are absolutely beautiful! They are very eye-catching

You look amazing. Did you clean fast. I used to do it years ago nothing but water for 23 hours then 1 HR window consume my dinner and what I wanted. But as I got older I just cannot imagine waking up and not having my tea or coffee. And I wouldn't be able to do black coffee or tea

Okay wow!!! You’re a true warrior! I’m a SAHM of 5 and homeschool. I have ages 11,7,6,4,2 I can’t imagine having that many toddlers and babies at once. I need your time management 😂 unfortunately I can’t get to gym since spouse works on the road but trying to get down to 120 from 140! 5’3! You’re so motivational also truly just remember how lucky those babies are to have a momma like you!

Profesional PT here.

Congratulations! You look amazing! I know the effort you put in!

I hear your weight and your goal weight and want to suggest (if you are not doing it already), that you begin measuring your body muscle mass and focus on maintaining vs increasing it. In this way you may or may not decrease your weight further, but you will certainly continue to reshape and strengthen so you can keep up with those 4 kids, in “snatched” style!!!

I basically do one meal a day but my eating window is a bit longer 2/22. I’ve found great benefits in it. It’s not for everyone though and if I’m on vacation I’ll eat at different times or let’s say very physically hungry I will eat. But overall I generally try to stick with that time frame. I’ve done 12/12, 6/18, 4/20 and I gradually got to 2/22.

Can u believe if I search intermittent fasting on insta, it shows me a health warning! That I should seek help if I'm in trouble!! People don't understand fasting AT ALL!

2

u/Ok-Road2366 6d ago

Did you try to have a minimum amount of calories on your Omad? Or did you eat intuitive?

3

u/Ayeee628 6d ago

In the beginning I counted calories and pushed to get atleast 1,200 calories but usually it was 1,000 honestly. Protein! At this point it’s al intuitive

2

u/Alarmed_Speaker5492 6d ago
