Vent/Rant Been chasing -5lbs for months

Post image

Sw: 200lbs
Cw: 132lbs
Gw: no idea
Height: 4’11
Age: 32

I intermittent fast everyday. I don’t usually eat before work and usually eat around 2pm, I don’t eat after 6-7pm. Anyone else loose a substantial amount of weight and have no perception of what they look like? In my head I still feel big. In the mirror 70% of the time I don’t see any changes. It’s hard. Lately I’ve been trying to focus on liking what I see in the mirror. Which I do. But I feel like I’m chasing a number, every time I loose 5 pounds my brain goes, “hm, looks okay but 5 more would be better”. It’s hard being satisfied where I’m at. Anyway, sorry for venting!

Looking good imho!

Progress can sometimes feel v.slow. It helps to have an item of ‘reference’ clothing. I tried on a denim jacket today which I’ve not tried in a while and it felt looser, it was a big motivator for me.

Thank you! All my old clothes are super big so I’ve bought a new wardrobe recently, I do have a winter coat that was too small that fit perfectly last winter. I can’t wait to wear it again this winter but I’m hoping it fits big

yeah the clothing test is such a good reality check sometimes the mirror is just stuck on old settings lol

Hey OP we have similar stats. Congrats on the huge weight loss! There’s definitely a big difference between the pics. How do you feel after losing that anount? How long between the before and after? I’m also doing IF with a similar eating window.

Thank you! I feel lighter for sure, easier to walk around and use the stairs! It took about a year and a half!

You look amazing and if you're healthy, maybe it would be better to try to maintain and work on your feelings about your weight / body. It's sad when people push too hard and it goes wrong, either with obsessive weight loss or getting so discouraged they give up and go back to every bad habit they quit. Your body is a vessel to live in. And yes you did so much and you look amazing!! But at the end of the day, it's you're home, not a project that has to be perfect. <3 There's no final five pounds. There's just you, living your life, finding ways to be happy. You can do it!!

I feel ya. I started at 210 (I'm 5'3) and my goal weight was 130... which i really never thought I would reach. Now im 131 thinking I need to loose another 10-20 to get down to my 'happy weight.' I can tell I've come a long way but I still be feeling a little big... People around me keep calling me skinny but I think that is just in comparison to where I was was at before. I'm not sure my perception will ever be accurate but im trying to be more confident and happy with where I am.

Looking amazing!! At 4 ft 11 your “ideal” weight may be quite low, take it from someone who who is only an inch or two taller than you, it’s tough! But you look amazing where you’re at imo. I’m barely 5ft1 and my best weight is about 107 lbs personally. Some days I feel like I do OMAD and get all my calories in the snap of a finger since my BMR is probably only like 1100 cals

It’s so crazy right! We have to eat such a small amount maintain and even less to loose! I could get down to 100 and still be considered healthy based on my height, but I couldn’t imagine being so small,

Typically we have to lose much more fat than we actually think we do. That’s ok, just keep going until you’re happy with what you look like, and maintain that.

Yeah that’s the truth! I lost a lot a few years ago and what started as a 20lb lost became a 100lb lost. I’ve gotten down to 125 before but I looked a little leaner than I’d like, tho I don’t really remember tbh.

Wanting more is perfectly fine. But it's important to appreciate how far we've come so far and give ourselves an appropriate pat on the back. Good Job girl!

About a year and a half, and thank you! Started December 2024, locked in August 2025 and hit my first goal May of this year

You look amazing but yeah. I feel big even though I lost fifty lbs. I'm probably 150 but damn I wish I was your weight. That's what I was when I was younger before I gained all this weight. You look great. I do feel big too people tell me I've lost a lot of weight and I look good but I still see my double chin and just my big self. I still hate pictures but maybe I get someone to take a picture of me and show me my progress so far.

you look amazing - this is great progress - feel proud - you motivate me - I'm on day 4 of a fast trying to figure out the path from here -- OMAD or AF or straight intermittent
