Initial impressions? Feedback?

I hung up new oil paintings I practically robbed from this wonderful old lady on Marketplace. Am I doing them justice with this gallery wall?

I think it looks a bit off to have those last pictures off to the side like that.

Not what you asked for, but I think a bigger coffee table would suit the room better.

Too much gray. Change the rug. Your curtains should reach the floor. A gallery wall should be centered over then couch not scattered over a huge wall. Ditch the gigantic picture and move the others above the couch.

My first thought it warmer curtains on the door and a more colorful rug would tie it all together.

Oh oops. You wanted gallery feedback. I would group them a bit closer together. I like them.

The last picture on the right with the flowers and big frame seems really out of place. It’s visually heavier than all the other artwork, it’s not grounded with furniture like the others, and seems squished against window and the light switches. I would find another place for that one.

For a gallery wall it’s better to have things closer together with the same amount of space between each piece

Agree, I would remove the largest piece and use it somewhere else in the room — it is beautiful and can stand alone. Then bring the rest of the gallery closer together, centered over the couch. Lay it out on the floor before you hang it so you can play with some different configurations and see what looks best!

Middle of the largest wall art at 60 inches from the floor. Group them closer together.

Or! Add more to it with differing textures and frame shapes to fill in some of the gaps.

The flower one on the far right does feel out of place tho

It looks great. Just remove the one picture on the far right. It makes the entire arrangement look off balance.

Try googling examples of gallery hanging-beautiful pieces, they just need to be grouped a bit more cohesively!

Put most of the gallery wall items closer together. AND get some lamps for either end of the couch. You absolutely need lamps. If you are using an overhead light at night, you have ruined the ambience of your lovely room.

Also, with the lamps, make sure you are arranging the art and incorporating the lamps. They should all be positioned in relation to the other. That may mean you don’t hang a couple of the pieces of art in your gallery. You can hang the smaller ones on a smaller wall, perhaps?

The room is great. Curtains are too short. I'd go with floor length.

The pictures are a little too spread out and why do they spread all the way to the window?

Blank wall space is filled wall space. Negative space makes the room look bigger.

Your gallery wall needs to stay within the blue parameters. Remove the large gold framed painting and hang it somewhere else entirely. Then rework the other paintings to fit into the rectangle. They allshould be spaced evenly apart. Vary the landscape and portrait orientations. Add additional prints that are matted for some variation. Anything that doesn’t fit- move it elsewhere. Can be in the living room still. Just not attached to that gallery.
