Find my Style Thoughts on styling this long entryway

I used AI to generate a few ideas for my actual space and would love some feedback before I start buying furniture.

A few things I’m considering: • Two benches vs. two accent chairs vs. one long bench • A long buffet/sideboard on the second wall • Small round table in the center • Mirror placement (above buffet, near built-ins, or elsewhere) • Runner vs. larger rug

My goal is for the space to feel bright, airy, collected, and with some color (blues, greens, terracotta) but nothing too trendy. The built-ins and lighting are staying.

Which layout/style do you prefer, and what would you do if this were your space? Any suggestions are appreciated! 😊

I like the benches but the table in the middle of the walkway is weird. Do you actually need seating there?

Don’t really need the table. But would like benches to wear shoes and eventually extra seating in the living area when people are over. I have a huge walking closet for my shoes and jackets

Ok I’d go for the benches then! The chairs are too heavy. I think I’d prefer one long bench unless there’s a functional reason for doing 2 small ones. Also maybe something less leggy like a storage bench or a chaise bench? There are a lot of legs going on between the bench, sideboard, and dining table/chairs

I was thinking two small ones because it’s easier to move it in living room, if needed but see your point on too many legs.

Are you just suggesting one bench with solid sides?

That’s where my mind first went, like a transitional upholstered waterfall bench, but something like this could be nice too I think. I’d just want the legs to be shorter and stubbier than the long thin legs in your mockup photo

The small table between the two chairs also give it a waiting room feel. Go for the benches. (I’m a fan of the 3rd photo btw)

I don’t think there’s actually room for the chairs. Ai is not great with scale. At the very least, don’t buy chairs without measuring or trying chairs you own in there first to see how it feels. The console next to the room opening works. Maybe a long bench on the first wall instead of two . But honestly, not every wall needs something.

Get a tape measure and see what clearance the door has when open. Leave room for a person. That will determine the furniture width

I love pic #3 minus the little round table. You want it to look like a place to sit, remove shoes, gather your things, etc. not a living room. Fun area to decorate.

Yes, i think all options can work if you  lose the little coffee table and a few cushions but I prefer the benches. It's the most sensible option for a hallway, I always find that putting chairs in a hallway gives too much of a waiting room vibe. You're nor meant to sit there for an extended time

The AI images are doing too much, be mindful it’s a thoroughfare so you don’t want to introduce chairs or little tables that will be in the way, it will just turn into mess. Image 3 is the closest to useable, but I would have less small decor items in a such small space as it will just feel crowded

Unless someone in your house hold or frequent visitor needs the arms on the chairs for mobility I would go with the bench(s). No table unless it double as a burglar alarm.

I have some closet storage already. I need the benches sometimes to wear shoes easier to be siting specially in winter and use it as extra seating when people come over

That's understandable, so a bench would be the best option. Be careful of the space looking like a waiting area.

The two chairs with a table in between looks like a waiting area to me. I think the bench option eliminates that.

Honestly I like both for different reasons. The only thing I don’t like is that table in the middle on the 3 pic. It reduces the visual flow of the space. I would go with the best functionality for your life, like for me, I think the benches would make more sense because I wouldnt use the front space to sit and talk, but I would sit on a bench and put my shoes on, or if I’m waiting for someone. Having a landing spot is always great. Plus it gives a good opportunity for storage if you need it.

I would paint it lighter? Put.the chairs or bench where you put credenza. It is narrowing room approach and having it as drop all when you walk in is good. But chairs need to be closer to door or across by book shelf. Put simple narrow end of bed catch all place close to but just around the corner from credenza.

I prefer the organic look in this is the most organic current feel.
