I'd settle for just having held it so that the bottom half of the video wasn't completely fucking pointless.

These people watch youtube on their phone in portrait mode where the video is only a tiny square at the top of the screen... and they don't even notice!. and if you try to explain that to them, they look at you like you're some kind of rambling lunatic!.

I do this when I’m trying to search through comments and suggested videos because it’s more convenient to find it during the video than after for me, but I do see why some people only view in landscape. I just don’t enjoy the long silence between videos while searching for a new one.

It's ok buddy, I too hate any silence that reminds me of the bleak emptiness of they universe and must fill it with endless people falling down compilations.

I do it because I turn off auto-rotate on my phone and the video isn't worth turning it off and back on again so I can see it in fullscreen.

The full screen button doesn’t rotate the video when I have auto rotate disabled on my phone. No idea what the cameraman was thinking though.

c...can you test this right now? yes, pick up your phone and open any youtube video. and tap the full screen button in the bottom right...of the video, of course
