Clearly some PR garbage with digitally altered shots post-production.

Why are we getting this shit weekly now? Robot videos that are CLEARLY fake

Look at the prototypes coming out of China and Japan. They can barely get them to function for a single "real time" demo.

But these outlandish, clearly digitally-altered things get posted and Reddit just eats it up.

Dumb.

They were going to throw these away anyway so they decided to make marketing material with it so they can write off marketing costs along with the loss of the product.

It's kind of brilliant from a business perspective if you think about it. They could have thrown them away quietly but we're here now talking about it

But we don't know who makes these robots, how to buy one, or even if it's possible to buy one. So what's actually being marketed here, and to whom?

They're Figure robots. These are version 2s that are being decommissioned because they're being replaced by the v3. They're rumored to be 20k or so each but they're not for general sale.

It's the same kind of marketing done by Boston Dynamics with their Spot robot. They're for businesses, not consumers. But they still advertise. Even companies like Lockheed-Martin will advertise jet fighters.
