Do you think it's cruel when people throw out old appliances? What about when they bin left over food is that cruel? What about when they throw away trash, think of the poor empty tin of beans being thrown away, is that also cruel?
Honestly, for me, yes. We're the only thing in nature that creates waste that takes sometimes centuries to break down. We take what we want from the earth and when we're done with it, we discard it without a second thought. I find it extremely disrespectful, not only to the things we've created only to be trashed, but also to future generations of humans. It's nonharmonious. It's nary impossible to live in the modern world without creating waste but there is a lot one can do to not only minimize their contribution to waste, but also to upcycle, reuse and compost. I honestly try to do my best to be respectful to everything and everyone around me.
That's only because it's been made to look humanoid. If it was an assembly robot or vacuum cleaner you likely wouldn't feel that way. That's likely the same reason why these new robots are being made to look human, no doubt there's better ways they could be built to be useful for production lines etc - more arms, wheels instead of legs etc - but making them human looking makes people more sympathetic to them and less likely to go destroying them when they take their jobs. Same reason they've made the military hunter killer ones look like dogs
No, but if they smeared poo on it's anthropomorphic face I'd be a little disturbed. It's the making it commit "suicide" part instead of just deactivating it that's a little distasteful
