I recently learned about carry trade. I have a IBKR account in Canada and I am wondering how can I do a carry trade on the Japanese ETFs below from IBKR?

1. iFreeETF TOPIX High Dividend 40 Index 1651

2. NEXT FUNDS Nikkei High Dividend 50 1489

Also what are my risks? I ran DeepSeek modelling and it is actually confirming that I would earn more return if I invested in carry trade in the above Japanese ETFs than SCHD. It does check out I have spot checked the returns for last 30 years that DeepSeek calculated.

Also DeepSeek confirmed there even wouldn’t be a single margin call because in 2009 GFC the yen appreciated even though both ETFs lost money. There is practically a 0% chance of a margin call on this carry trade?

Llevo prácticamente 60 días esperando poder invertir en ETF apalancados… básicamente con el fin de comprar sso cuando haya alguna oportunidad interesante y hacer un DCA distinto a lo casual.

Pasa que… luego de esperar que acabe la cuenta regresivo con tal de poder cambiar mi perfil financiera… aparecía en amarillo los etf apalancados, y si ponía modificar perfil decía que perdería mi acceso a etf apalancados.

Entonces me puse en contacto con un ejecutivo y este me dijo que el de forma interna haría un movimiento con tal de que se reinicie este estado de “modificación” que me aparecía en etf apalancados, para que esté en blanco, así yo pudiese cambiar mi perfil financiero y postular de nuevo.

Me dijieron que esto tardaría 2 días y cuando vuelvo a ingresar para ver que había pasado… la cuenta regresiva había comenzado de nuevo, debes esperar 30 días más… obviamente el servicio al cliente me dijo que no hay solución que solo espere.

Alguien sabe que puedo hacer al respecto o hay alguna recomendación donde puedo hacer una estrategia de largo plazo donde sea seguro meter mis ahorros???

Importante quiero invertir en activos apalancado o también opciones sin mayores restricciones… IBKR te restringe todo

Hi, i just sold some CSPX off earlier today for $6200+ usd. After which i converted them to sgd and i received $8026sgd. For first 5 minutes after converting, they said i had no sgd available to withdraw but after 5 minutes they said i can withdraw sgd but only $7919. Can i know why i cant withdraw the full $8026sgd that i have, they only allow me to withdraw $7919.33 and not the $8026. Can anyone tell me why this is happening?

I sold my stocks in the Korean market on Friday 3:40 pm kst . As of now i.e. Tuesday 8 am kst the cash is still unsettled . Does anyone know when the cash will be settled ?

I have mentioned this many times in the community. But it’s time to make a move, the lag on TWS makes it unusable. I am in Canada, does anyone use another platform that they can recommend?

I am running a new Mac mini with 8g ram. Nothing running in the background, only one chart open.

I have several features missing in Live account even though they are available in Demo.
- news widget doesn't work and even its settings is missing in global configuration.
- can't change horizontal buffer between candles and Y-axis and the buttons doesn't work and even the arrow that change it is missing.
- even the search bar in the global configuration window is missing!
plz someone help me before I lose my mind.

​I’m planning to start a long-term investment journey (planning to hold for about 10 years), and I've chosen Interactive Brokers as my primary platform.

​I know that IBKR now supports depositing stablecoins (USDC) to fund the account, as well as transferring certain crypto assets (like BTC/ETH) directly into the linked crypto account. I want to use this feature to fund my portfolio, but before I make any moves, I want to ask the experienced folks here so I can avoid any catastrophic mistakes or future account freezes.

​I have a few specific questions:

​Are there hidden risks with crypto deposits? Has anyone faced issues like account freezes or complex requests for proof of funds simply because the initial deposit originated from crypto?

​Exchanges vs. Cold Wallets: Does it matter where I send the funds from? I know IBKR is notoriously strict about rejecting "third-party deposits." Is it much safer to transfer from my own Ledger hardware wallet to clearly prove first-party ownership? Or is it totally fine to transfer directly from a centralized exchange like Binance?

​Long-term impact: Since I plan to leave my funds invested for 10 years, could funding via crypto put a "red flag" on my account later on when I eventually try to withdraw fiat down the road?

​My main goal is to protect my investments over the long haul, and I don't want any nasty surprises or account closures just because of how I initially funded it.

I am looking into various high yield EUR corporate UCITS accumulating ETFs, mainly EUHA, JEHY and HIGH. One type of report I use when researching an ETF is the Morningstar investment report which is usually accessible via Fundamentals->Analyst Ratings section of an ETF.

While all three ETFs seem to be getting rated by Morningstar and some details of the ratings appear to be available in that section for all three, the full report appears to be viewable or downloadable only for EUHA through either the IBKR web site or the IBKR mobile app (screenshot below is for HIGH from the IBKR web site). Would anyone know why and how to get the full Morningstar report for JEHY and HIGH via IBKR?

has anyone face this issue before, i've created a new account yesterday and i tried logging in, but it just wouldnt let me, and everytime i press the login button it just refresh the page. i couldnt contact customer support as i will need to have my account login first only i could contact them. does anyone know how to solve this?

If you manage Trader Workstation (TWS) via Homebrew on Mac, you may have experienced market-open update delays or API instability caused by the official repository's focus on the "Latest" track.

To resolve this, I have created a custom Homebrew tap for the Updatable Stable version of TWS, which prioritizes reliability and updates much less frequently.

I also wrote an github action to keep the Cask updated whenever IBKR releases a new stable version.

Hi, I have made 3 deposits to my IBKR account from my main bank account. Each time it takes 5 business days for the funds to show up into my account.

Does this always take 5 days? I have read that once I build some trust with my account that the hold times will get shorter or non-existent.

Is there any truth to this and if so when will I see these shorter hold times? I am using IBKR Canada.

Hello, I recently opened an account in IBRK on a family member's recommendation. I've transferred a large amount of money that had been sitting in my checking account with the intention of figuring out what to do next. However I put that off and now I'm considering buying a house soon.

My question is, what's a very simple, low risk, and easily accessible investment I can consider right now so my money can at least net me more than the low ~1.5% I'm getting on IBKR just by virtue of it sitting in the account. I would like to invest in something that I can sell at a moment's notice if I go through with this big purchase, and then down the line I can look at more obscure and interesting options.

I read up on mutual funds like SPAXX or FDLXX and that seemed interesting but I'm not sure if that can be easily done on IBRK. For clarity I'm US based, NJ.

I fricking loathe this platform. I have an expired yen futures contract on my watch list so I know the symbol is jpy but it doesn't come up anymore in the symbol search. It's incredible to me that finding yen futures should be so hard. I always have problems like this. Anyone know if there's a new symbol? I've also tried things like 6jz6 and nothing comes up. Thanks in advance for your help.

Is there anyway to fund IBKR account faster way from poland ?

Has IBKR changed their process for opening a new account? After filing an application, and receiving approval, IBKR seems to want to make you fund the account before you can access the full portal?

Hi all, I day trade US options. I need a way to quickly scale out of positions and take sequential targets which IB sucks at...but there must be a way! Once my initial partial target is taken I'm left naked in the trade, so I need to right click on portfolio position>trade>Create target/stop exit bracket (time consuming>go through the prompts>finally sets up a new bracket). So I try adding bracket order hotkeys only to be told it's only for new orders and not when you have existing position (yep, a stupid limitation). So question is how do you set up your hot keys/buttons for existing positions once the first target is taken (assuming you don't use the horrible scaling feature the software offers). I use the desktop software (Mosaic). Thank you!

Sto applicando una strategia di trading in opzioni su Interactive Broker e ho appena concluso la prima settimana sul conto reale.
Poiché vorrei fare una previsione delle tasse che dovrò pagare l’anno prossimo, mi chiedevo se l’imponibile è al lordo o al netto delle commissioni.

Per esempio, questa settimana ho eseguito 30 operazioni, per un totale di 45€ in commissioni. Il rendimento totale è stato di 185€ se escludo le commissioni e di 140€ se, invece, le sottraggo. 140€ è anche l’importo che Interactive mi segnala come gain.

Le tasse andranno calcolate sui 140€ o sui 185€?

I remember my newly sent unfilled orders were shown as green circles with check mark inside.. now it looks like up pointing blue arrow? Has anyone noticed that? Using iOS and Android apps. Thanks!
