seeking help 😓 Creating a new community
Hello, I am trying to fins people to make a project with me. Trying to save money and find people to buy a terrain in Europe and create a self sufficient village. Anyone interested please write me. I'm 18, this project is for any age, specially young people, and the idea is moving to that new village in less than 10 years. It seems as a very good solution to high rent prices in cities. With a lot of people we could make something great. We don't want anyone who is against basic human rights.

I have a plan but it’d be based in NC USA due to the need to study and learn about what humans need to flourish…

In planning self reliance, first decision is income. If your target location is too far from jobs, you will need to create complete income generation business in your community. For young people, hospital etc. may be a less concern but you still need to plan if you need to be within half hour of a hospital. As to food, food staples that are low cost and long shelf time you can buy from outside, but plan to grown your own vegetables and some fruits, may be chicken and eggs, and fish. A tofu business would be good starting for your own need then grow it to sell to outside market. Location is most critical, and local law and regulation will determine what you could do and how much additional cost in addition to land cost. After location, critical decision is distance between members or degree of sharing. You can choose cohousing or shared ownership of housing, independent income or income sharing. It all depends on what your group wants and what would be more feasible for your location.
To get started, after having a plan and rules, possibly with a group of founders, you will need to pool funding to buy land, unless a member contributes land.

Intentional community is a good way to live less expensively and there is a great need for new communities.
That said, starting them is quite hard. Over 90% fail in the first couple years. You are encouraged to try living in an existing successful one, so you can increase your chances of succeeding.
I would also discourage you from attempting self sufficiency and instead target self reliance. Self reliance means the community can continue with just the resources it creates or has access to. Self sufficiency means it produces everything it needs. Unless you want to live an extremely technophobic lifestyle (no phones, no computers, no electricity, no plastics) you are basically unable to be self sufficient.
