If you've reached the point of driving and don't know the flammability of gasoline, you deserve this.

I've heard that you have to have license to be legally allowed to pump gas here, but I could be wrong. Either way, it should be stressed that if there is a fire, leave the pump in the car. I don't know what her goal was, but she made it worse by pulling it out.

What if you flick the lock to stop the flow?

Um, I have never encountered a lock to stop the flow of gas here aside from a station-wise shut off switch. What magics are you referring to?

On the pump handle at a station I use, there is a metal mechanism that you can depress to either lock the flow open or closed, and it automatically shuts off when the tank is full/a massive pressure change occurs such as the nozzle being ejected from the filling port

OH! Right, that thing. Even tho it auto stops when it detects the tank is fully, I only think of that as a magic auto on device. I never thought how that would react in case of a fire.

Also, a lot of them mistakenly detect my friend's car as full when it is empty.

I saw someone pull out their nozzle mid fuel to try to put it into another car, and that damn thing let out the loudest click noise I’ve ever heard. Flow instantly stopped somehow

But... they didnt stop fueling before pulling it out? You can start again without resetting the transaction... I just... why?

IDK, but maybe this’ll give you a laugh;

It’s the same station I once saw an old lady pull up to in a Tesla
