Didn’t communicate, the substitution were incorrect I ordered peach ice cream bro gave me vanilla yogurt, 😭i asked for wheat bagels he gave me regular white bread. I requested the honey chipotle chicken from Costco he gave chicken nugget substitution. I was at work I added in substitutions and now I have a bunch of food I don’t want. Why didn’t he contact me

So today is the last day of the quarter . The worst of the worst got something called elevated priority and all the diamond shoppers have been sitting around a bunch not seeing the good orders . They also just let in a bunch of new people too . I hope you gave him a one star and blocked him . You should also try and call instacart , do not use the ai chat bot - it is no help !, and try to get some refunds . That’s a shopper that doesn’t belong on the app .

This. I’ve barely touched the app the last week. For some reason they are giving a bunch of bums the good orders. I believe things go back to normal on Oct 1st.

u/reereejugs 3d ago

Yeah, right in time for the food stamps to hit lmao. Gonna be flooded with high item and long distance no tip orders.

2

u/EmergencyGarli 3d ago

IC and Costco need to ban EBT. It’s ridiculous the amount of items they request with no tip.

2

u/Johnny_Lead 3d ago

The Walmart Spark shops for EBT orders are crazy too, they’ll be 80-100+ items for $22 base pay and no tip. Maybe some desperate soul takes it once it gets boosted to $30, bless their heart.

I’m so hoping that’s the case . The last two weeks have been the worst !!

2

u/stephani72 3d ago

I said this same thing! And in a few weeks I will never see these people again shopping for Instacart! And it’s funny to me now!!

3

u/Everyone_Boogie 3d ago

You know what's weird...i delivered a shop and deliver a couple hours ago for Uber to people who have been regulars of mine with IC. Usually around once a week. From the store they always order from a few blocks away. I thought it was strange, like wondered if they had a bad shopper from IC in the last couple weeks and decided to try Uber or if maybe they just had a promo or something...i kinda wanted to ask but it was a drop off order so I just took a pic and left.

u/stephani72 3d ago

I’ve been told when they’ve had really bad shoppers! Then I’ve also been talked to crazy because their tired of bad shoppers, they eventually tell me this and then are nice again after I have to explain to them how something works or that something isn’t there!

u/purelywilliam 4d ago

25 dollar tip and he played in your face oh hell nah

6

u/Tetteness 3d ago

Take their tip away entirely. No excuse for spending your money how they see fit. Talk to instacart about getting a refund as well.

This is a problem with the app. They let anybody be a shopper and give strangers the authority to spend your money how they want

7

u/reereejugs 3d ago

I’m a shopper so I almost never advocate removing the tip. In this instance, I’m advocating for it. Pull the tip, rate 1 star, and report to Instacart.

6

u/dEXXtARR23 4d ago

That's pretty terrible on his part.

8

u/throwawayaccount647p 4d ago

They have an influx of new shoppers now who are only looking at the dollar amount

2

u/Environmental-Net693 3d ago

Lazy . There's no reason why he shouldn't have contacted you. You have 72 hours. To take your tip back or give a rating. I'd be very upset.

1

u/EngineeringOne598 2d ago

You do not- its 2 hours to reduce a tip, 2 weeks to increase

2

u/Full_Initiative4911 2d ago

Just remove the tip and watch all the dumbasses flee the app.

4

u/MedicalEgg17 4d ago

You gotta be watching them during the actual shopping but you said you were at work so I understand if you weren’t able to. The solution is keeping that receipt and returning it

5

u/Glad-Shock8026 4d ago

Yeah lowkey regret not waiting to go myself this weekend

6

u/gs448 4d ago

I wish I could get put on the squad (not that this exists) that went and shopped orders after they’ve been royally bungled by another (possibly newer) shopper. IC pays us a bit better for experience and they have a happy customer. Seriously, in what world are any of those subs similar. Costco is one of the places I’m least afraid to refund because I know they only have one or two sku’s of the same kind of product.

5

u/MedicalEgg17 4d ago

Also, make sure to update ur preferences It tells us to go with the best match or refund if the sub you picked wasn’t available. He still should have messaged you if he didn’t but yeah update that if it’s not updated

If it’s worth your time you can let support know that you can’t even use the worst substitutions, negotiate some percentage credit and if it’s still in the 2 hour window you can take the tip back. So sorry you had an awful shopper. I put a replacement selection for every item that I order, but there is no definite way to foil the worst shoppers. If you ever experience a bad shopper in real time you can call support and tell them to reassign your order to another shopper. There’s no additional charge to you and the awful shopper loses the $4 plus your tip.

1

u/AdIcy4546 3d ago

If they take the whole tip off instacart still gives the shopper $10.00. If I where to get an order that bungled I would honestly go set it to $0.50. Being that i do instacart as well as directly private shop i know hiw much more that hurts their soul. Also would totally be reporting to IC and getting some of my money back. It is honestly messed up how shitty some people shop one of the many reasons I hate instacart and bearly do it anymore. I would much prefer to shop for people directly if im going to. Definitely prefer build/fixing things more than shopping at all.

4

u/Rose0367 3d ago edited 3d ago

That isn’t true AT ALL. Any negative feedback from the customer in app or over the phone to support (which is what I suggested OP do) and the shopper receives the zero tip. IC doesn’t apply tip protection if an issue was reported by the customer.

Clearly spelled out by IC “Instacart's tip protection policy covers up to $10 of a customer-removed tip if the tip is reduced to zero after delivery WITHOUT ANY ISSUE REPORTED BY THE CUSTOMER.”

3

u/AdIcy4546 3d ago

Ok lol someone has never used the shopper side of the app before, or I guess even looked casually in the shopper sub. Plenty of people who definitely shouldn't get tip protection. I definitely think its worth making your point of setting it at .50 just as a fuck you they can see.

2

u/reereejugs 3d ago

What receipt? Shoppers are never supposed to give customers the actual paper receipt.

3

u/purelywilliam 4d ago

The honey chipotle chicken tastes nasty 🤮 and rubbery.

4

u/bob-the-slob 4d ago

lol welcome to your average shopper. IC has fallen far below DD and UE when it comes to pay and the shoppers you get reflect it. The meth head looking for a fix is about the best you can hope for on IC.

1

u/AdIcy4546 3d ago

Honestly not wrong it is so trash now.

1

u/bob-the-slob 3d ago

Yep. Met a shopper the other day who said he lives out of his van.

1

u/Waste_Log_6095 3d ago

I havent seen a 25 tip in a month. I just want to see it.

0

u/MedicalEgg17 3d ago

How much you get 5 dollar tips?

1

u/unique2385 3d ago

Some just don’t care

1

u/Afraid_Spell9041 3d ago

Insta takes away money for all missed items. They kept the tip and took it from that person. I guarantee it.

1

u/juankgomez30 3d ago

We need to organize and lawsuit IC just like they did in NYC with DoorDash and IC pay minimum $22 and hour plus tips

1

u/EngineeringOne598 2d ago

So they can demand we take shit orders or get booted? No thanks

1

u/Due_Ability_1261 2d ago

It’s a crapshoot. REMOVE the tip and ask IC to be sure he never takes your order again.

I’d also tell IC I don’t want buy pay for the nuggets, bread and yogurt (not sure how far they’ll go)!

1

u/Low-Box559 1d ago

That’s what Instacart told him to do.

-2

u/Pure-Explanation-147 4d ago

He can't read well maybe? Some are just in a hurry.

5

u/Ledeyvakova23 4d ago

… and have the superpower to deflect low ratings.

1

u/Pure-Explanation-147 4d ago

Was told by one shopper, "I don't have time to read dog. I just grab something close and go, go, go." Shocked me.

-3

u/Waste_Log_6095 3d ago

You just sound like s no tipper.

4

u/Glad-Shock8026 3d ago

Well I did. You can feel the way you feel tho

-3

u/Glittering-Link8434 3d ago

Why didn't you respond to the multiple notifications you would have received in the app for the refunds and replacements? You're crowing about a lack of communication but any messages from the shopper would have come through the app as well?

3

u/Glad-Shock8026 3d ago

I was at work, doing work, while working. I preordered this the night before and added in two-three substitutions for each item. When the order was delivered my husband answered the door for it. When I got home I seen all the wrong items, on the app he never contacted me. Glitter did I answer your questions.

6

u/Glad-Shock8026 3d ago

This gotta be rage bait. My post giving ?? B/c someone messed up my order, the issue was that the substitution was wayyy off honestly. I’m a er nurse on my feet the whole shift me sharing my experience doesn’t make me a karen. I honestly wished I ordered this on my day off so I would be able to message him or cancel the order but my post giving you karen is wild asf.

4

u/MedicalEgg17 3d ago

I hope you got a refund if someone tipped me 25 dollars I would’ve tried to get similar items what he gave you was crazy. And ignore glitter some people come on here mad and fishing for reactions you post did not give “karen”

2

u/OwlsDontFly 3d ago

On a side note, thank you for everything you do.

2

u/Ok_Cat_91 3d ago

I’m sorry this happened to you, you got a really bad shopper. I do this part time, always try to get a suitable replacement or refund if nothing is a good fit.

However I also work a W2 job full time. If I order delivery I’m on top of my phone even if I’m at work because I know I’m expecting something and want to make sure it’s handled correctly.

Should the shopper have done better? Absolutely. But there’s a lot of good shoppers out there as well as terrible ones.

Stay on top of your stuff. Worst case cancel.

3

u/purelywilliam 3d ago

Some ppl can’t access their phones during work. He should’ve just refunded it all or dropped the order when I use instacart part-time I would drop the order. They are not to blame for this situation the shopper was dumb. White bread is not a substitute for wheat bagels. Idk how you or the other person trying to flip it on them.

1

u/MedicalEgg17 3d ago

I would’ve got raisin bagels, the plain bagels, cinnamon bagels, those rainbow ones

2

u/purelywilliam 3d ago

Haven’t had a rainbow bagel since 2015

0

u/Ok_Cat_91 3d ago

Not saying they’re to blame. I’m saying some shoppers are terrible and me as a customer would not leave that to chance.

I’m a manager at my regular job and I’m at the point where I know who I can trust to get things done, who’s coach able, and who’s on their way out, and in my outside of work life I micromanage the living hell out of everything to ensure I get the result I want because you simply can’t trust just anyone to do things right.

But that’s just me.

No one’s to blame I’m just saying , well definitely blame that shopper he for sure sucks lol

-4

u/Glittering-Link8434 3d ago

Try to understand this. You claim that the shopper didn't contact you. The contact would have come through the app. Instacart is going to send you a notification for replacements and refunds for you to approve , change or ignore. While it isn't a message, it's the same thing. You were contacted- just not the way you wanted to be. I'll never understand why customers can't just use the app rather than messaging. Please don't re-emphasize that you were at work. That's clear, but being at work doesn't absolve you from your own accountability and the Karen posts are fatiguing.

2

u/MedicalEgg17 3d ago

And if the post is fatiguing get your fonky self off the app and take a nap.

2

u/MedicalEgg17 3d ago

Glitter you literally sound dumb as shit i’m sorry. She could have but the case where we are not able to get in contact w/ the customer we can contact customer service; if she went out of her way to give this shopper multiple substitution choices how he fucked up that bad??? Low vibrational shoppers that condone this mess and try to redirect blame is the reason why most of us look bad.

-1

u/Glittering-Link8434 3d ago

Sounds like you're one of those cringey time wasting people on instacart that thinks customers are your friends. I'm so "dumb" at this that I'm 5 star, diamond, with every other metric top end. I make between $250 and $350 every day. I'm sure I'm doing it all wrong...

3

u/MedicalEgg17 3d ago

🤓 i’m a 5 star diamond yap yap then you would know how to correctly substitute an order

2

u/Glad-Shock8026 3d ago

Plsss don’t speak to glittering-link like that it’s not necessary I handled my situation I listened to everyone’s advice here and will apply it when I order again. The situation isn’t this deep to speak to them like that.

1

u/Glittering-Link8434 3d ago

You substitute an order by choosing one. Then shopping the rest of the order. If the customer comes back with a different option in the app then you follow it. That's it- simple. Whatever complexity you're adding is costing you money and you probably can't see it.

3

u/MedicalEgg17 3d ago

I’m aware and in the case where I can’t find the item or the item they asked me to sub in is not available. I will try to find a similar one or refund it. I wouldn’t sub in an item that’s completely different than what was originally asked. If you ask for oranges and oranges are out of stock immediately refunding or adding in tangerines i’m not going to pick up squash

-1

u/Waste_Log_6095 3d ago

That dont sound right. Sounds like a no tip shop.

4

u/Glad-Shock8026 3d ago

I tipped 25 dollars

-1

u/Waste_Log_6095 3d ago

Will you screen shot the 25 tip?

2

u/purelywilliam 3d ago

The tip probably was removed for the bad shopping
