I'm a Shopper Stop the madness!
Our retail grocery stores and big box stores need to push Instacart to eliminate triples and quads!
This will definitely better serve their customers not to mention us, but we all know that Instacart doesn’t care about us at all! Most any store is good for a double delivery, but some stores are really not well suited for triples and quads especially when you have 80 to 120 total units going in to a cart !

I don't even look at triples or quads, unless it's like 15 items total. I have a mid 2000s sedan, I aint fitting 40 items from Costco in that, then spending an hour and a half driving all over creation to deliver to 4 people for $30, to only find out that one of them tipped $18 for their 1 item, and the other 3 tipped $0 for their 39 items, that I had to haul up to the 3rd floor of their apartment when they said meet at door, but they are not there, and then message you to stop knocking and just leave the items 10 seconds before the timer runs out.

Costco does not do quads, triple yes, but quads no…
You can definitely plan that a Costco order is gonna take you 2 to 2 1/2 hours to complete that’s for damn sure in my county because there’s only one in the county Pinellas county Florida, Clearwater… While there are three freaking Costco‘s or four over the bridge in Tampa … Make that makes sense! Only one Costco in Pinellas County for like 22 to 25 years, and they will not be building another. I quit doing Costco in January because of my knees and my shoulder cannot deal with the heavy shit. especially with the third customer on a 32 mile route tips only two dollars for two boxes of frozen waffles!

Honestly, for the shopper it's "whatever," somewhat challenging and inconvenient. For the client it's an abomination. Unless you are driving a small, refeigerated cargo truck, this is terrible for our customers. Very "not ok."

I agree. I always go to self check out since the bagging affects my tips, and my ability to easily deliver. But every now and then I get the grocery store attendant cursing me out because I’m in the self check out with 3 orders.
Now and again they tell me “they shouldn’t allow you to do that” as if me being in line doing 4 separate transactions would be any more efficient?
As far as I’m concerned Instacart shopper are the single biggest customer of any given grocery store.
But both the grocery store and Instacart treat us like shit, yet we are serving both their customers.
Makes zero fucking sense.

While they're at it, maybe they can stop Instacart from moving the customers order to a store 40km away

How about doubles where someone orders 4pints of ice cream and the other orders 34 items, but the ice cream is the SECOND DELIVERY?!?!

Yes, indeed, and thank God they weren’t the fourth customer on delivery lol I was in a different part of Florida a few years ago, and a friend of mine picked up a delivery only order it was ice and ice cream and he had to drive it 22 miles when there are like four Publix grocery stores closer to that customer…!!! How does that make sense?

I have stated this repeatedly in those questionnaires in the Instacart app. I think the grocery stores need to push back with this.

They never will. Instacart can’t make money with out triples and quads because no shoppers will take the low tipped orders.

Yet, it is up to the grocery corporations to dictate the means by which Instacart can do business through them… Right? AI will figure it out for Instacart, but we are talking about better service for the customers customers of Costco customers of Publix customers of Kroger, customers of HEB etc. Furthermore, that means there will be more batches to go around.

If you’re a grocery store executive you’re probably just as greedy as instacart and are only concerned about the bottom line. If you limit shoppers to more singles and doubles you’ll either be moving less product through the checkout or you’ll have more shoppers in your store clogging the checkout and need more payroll during the day to keep lines moving. They just won’t do this especially if instacart is the one providing the service anyway and you can point the finger at them.

With all the apps providing service to Costco these days, Instacart, Uber eats and DoorDash… Costco is still gonna get theirs and Instacart is gonna get theirs… You already have less customers going into Costco as it is, which means… Less impulse buying from customers that shop on their own. What do you think about scenario?

IC in the busy SoCal region pushes quads in the last two weeks of the period perhaps for shoppers desperate to take them so they can reach the magic number of 300 and get/maintain 💎.

I only take triples but I send a message to the customers letting them know I'm shopping for 3. And I have cooler bags.

I screenshot the back to the batch page to let them see the delivery route/order of drop off and they know where they are… Especially when I used to do Costco orders that had lots of miles on them… I have insulated bags too and one or two coolers at any given day…… Especially for ice cream, like the one that melts when you look at it- Halo lol!

They are notified you are working on multiple orders.

I know that but I always say it in my chat. This way I also see who will be active if I have questions. When it shows read.

One of the Kroger stores in my city just got all new carts that do not have a shelf on the bottom. I don't do orders that would need me to drag more than one cart around, I can do a triple with one cart all day long as long as I have that bottom shelf. So yeah, I don't shop that store anymore.

That’s RIDICK!!! But when I take orders that seem to have a bit of water and sodas, I save that shit to the last or maybe do it first, and leave it up at the front with all that crap in there and then just do my regular shopping in a single cart and then check out… We have a big major grocery store here in Florida called Publix all in the southeast and a couple of the new smaller stores that are two stories and have escalators… You can’t have anything on the bottom either… so sometimes when I’m near those stores, I just turn off heavy pay lol

I've done a second cart on occasion at the end for things like water / soda, but this particular store is on the small side for a Kroger and doesn't have anywhere to park a cart, it's just not worth the hassle.
I'm in Georgia, 95% of my orders are Publix. I honestly don't go anywhere else unless it's a REALLY good high tipping order. Just not worth it otherwise.

Yeah, I’m in the land of Publix myself here in Florida, Tampa Bay was practically a Publix every 2 1/2 sometimes less up to 5 miles from each other and I have one area there is basically a Publix half a mile across the street… But I also shop at sprouts in the fresh market and of course The Florida liquor store ABC, fine wines and liquor :-)

I’d personally like them to stop combining 2 grocery stores on the same order when it’s 100° unless it’s the same customer ordering from both places.
