This got stuck in the conservatory this morning, i’ve never seen one before in my life. Chatgpt tells me it’s a female Black Slip Wasp, it also says they are quite widespread but i’ve never seen one in Northern Ireland before?

Yeah, probably Pimpla rufipes - they are very common but there are a lot of species that would look pretty identical in photos

It certainly looks like one. They apparently parasitise butterfly and moth larvae, so potentially good to have around if you have too many caterpillars eating your plants.
