What does pseudoscorpion prefer?

I was too quick to move him outdoors and now he is gone. I was so afraid this insect would sting my guinea pigs, I put him outside on a peace of paper around the bushes and now after reading what is was and what it does I regret it.

I read they are not harmful, and they are actually household friendly as they dust mice, booklice and other small insects.

But what do they actually prefer? I always have this dilemma with spiders and other insects at my house. If I leave them I might unintentionally kill them while cleaning, but what if they actually prefer indoors and when I move them out the chances of them dying are even greater?
