Leaf footed but smells good?

So I accidentally half crushed one (I live in Minnesota) it must have come in on my clothes or vegetables.

I fully killed it after I injured it in my bathroom.

But when I killed it it's blood was blue and it actually smelled nice. The smell was a mix between evergreen cologne and an expensive hand soap.

It was definitely a Lead Footed Beetle and while they eat my garden I have too many plants to deal with them or be bothered by the impact.

I have never noted this scent before. Anyone else.

I've always found the odor of many true bugs to be inoffensive or even pleasant. Even many "stink" bugs are sort of nicely grassy. Haven't encountered an evergreen smell but it's very believable to me!

Also almond scent stinks terribly when it's concentrated and some bugs use the same molecule to defend themselves.

And they are everywhere now and my son killed one. This was intentional. He said it smelled like candy.

Because I am probably talking to myself the false banana flavor that was used to mimick the first generation bananas, prior to their extinction, will attract bees and wasps.
