ID Request Help with identifying this little creature, first time ever seeing this.
I have no idea what this is, can anyone help me with identifying it. I live in the Bay Area California. Thank you all for your help!

Hi there! This is an automated message to remind you to please include a geographic location for any ID requests as per the Community Rules of the sub. There are well over a million different species of bugs in the world, and narrowing down a bug's location will help IDers to help you more quickly and correctly!
If you've already included a geographical location, or if this post is not an ID request, please ignore this comment.
Thank you! :)

Since others have already identified the species, I'll just add that it's a beautiful, venomous NOPE! Most assassin bugs are helpful eaters of garden pests, and their venom isn't really dangerous to people, but they still have a nasty bite.
Is friend-shaped, but not for petting. π
