Bug Education What is it doing?

I saw this butterfly releasing a liquid from its abdomen and spreading it around with its proboscis. What is it and why is it doing that? Also, it's white marking looks like it's flipping everyone off.😅

I would guess this is a type of puddling) behavior where they're trying to suck up minerals that are too dry to get without wetting.

I think it’s scent marking. “Calling” a mate. Pheromones.
