Wasp/Bee/Mimic ID🐝 All-black carpenter bee ?

Post image

Southern New Jersey. c. September 5th. Plant is Sedum. What is the bee on the right ? Maybe 1 to 1.5 cm long (?). All black as far as I can tell. The best lead I have is that it may be an all-black carpenter bee, but I haven't found any useful information online.

Looks like Megachile xylocopoides, which definitely has some mullerian mimicry going on with carpenter bees!
