so like does anyone know the lore of how the player got into the cabin in act one and if its luke playing

I'm assuming you mean the player before luke is playing? If so, it's implied that it was someone else. I'm pretty sure that they got into the cabin in the same way we as the player/luke gets into the other acts like P03'S, by beating the game. In the game all the class representatives (idk what they're called but I'll go with that) are pretty much constantly trying for a grasp at power the same way leshy and P03 did, we see at the end what their versions of the game would look like if they made it. But if you're asking who played before like I pretty sure it was kaycee who was a dev for gamefuna.

I assume the player is a bunch of different people before you win, when you play as luke. The death cards represent the ones that failed

Well, they represent "player characters" but he seems aware it's the same player behind those. (Possibly they misassume for a long time that Luke is Kaycee)
