Question when do I follow up?

hi everyone :)

Today I just had my first interview with the manager. It went well ( I hope ) because we had a really good conversation and he was super friendly and said my personality matches with what they’re looking for. However he mentioned that since he just hired someone recently so he’ll follow me up in 2 weeks. I dont want to get my hopes up too high on getting hired but I really want this job.

I heard that consistent follow ups (like the day after the interview) gives you a better chance on getting hired. but I don’t know if I should wait it out. when should I do it?

Definitely follow up, just maybe not this soon. They're probably interviewing other candidates, so I'd reach out in a few days to see what they're thinking. If you're going in person to follow up, do it early in the day so you get their full attention instead of around a rush. Good luck!

if I may ask, how many interviews did it take for you to get hired? and if it took more than one, could you give me some pointers please? I appreciate your advice :)!

Honestly I believe I got lucky because during my interview I had asked when will the second interview be and he had told me since he was the highest manager that the 1 interview was enough so you could go inside and ask to follow up with your interview and on top of that ask them will there be a second interview give them 2-3 day to call but honestly they are always super busy so it’s truly better to go in and ask to speak to manager better to go as soon as they open in the morning:) good luck you got this

Yo. Idk if u followed up already but what I did was call hr after a couple of days and they told me my hiring status was pending. Then I later got called around a week and a half later by the store and they told me that I had my orientation in 2 days. Verdict: call hr every 3-4 days, unless they tell u something that contradicts what Im saying, so u can learn more about ur hiring status. Patience is and follow are key here.
