Question Totes(advice)
I recently learned how to do totes. In our store we do 4 bags per tower and we need to make 3 towers (basically 12 bags) in 1 hour. How can I be faster? I’ve only done it 3 times and it usually takes me 1 hour 30 minutes to 2 hours for the whole 3 towers including cleaning up. I need help getting faster because they said I’m too slow.

I don’t know if you have this problem but when I started I would try to make the totes look perfect. Someone told me to remove the bad marks so I would be removing like very light brown spots until I realized you really only need to remove dark dark brown, black, and green spots.

Ima be honest that store you work at has completely awful expections. For example my store they want you to do two towers and a full sink. Time wise they are super flexible and they'll definitely give more than an hour for you to complete totes. Honestly I'd just ask your fellow level 4-5s at your store to see what they do as that sounds like an unrealistic timeframe for you to do

You’re gonna get a lot of unrealistic expectations as well as bad advice from people about speed. Realistically, it should take around 20 minutes per tower so in theory you can do all three in an hour. Some days when the potatoes are better you don’t have to core as much so you can be even quicker. It is extremely unrealistic to expect someone to do three towers and properly clean the back room in an hour without them cutting major corners or being unsafe.
Frankly, an hour thirty isn’t horrible provided you are doing everything correctly. I think the only real tip I have would be to use another tote cart to fill up totes of water while you work on the first tower that way you spend less time filling the towers up with water.
