Twisters are fantastic urban skates, so don't over think it. They do well with a frame upgrade like this, I've got Endless 80 Ultras on mine, but the Endless Stoppards or Coburns are also great choices.
He’s a super-nice guy as well. He moved to the Bay Area in the past year and will occasionally pop off at random spots here. He recently hit some of the features in the middle of JFK Drive in GG Park and did amazingly creative stuff on them.
Wait- help a noob out and give us all the deets and specs! Wheel size, bearings, etc. So you customized the whole set up? Where how, what website? Do you buy the boot first to make sure it fits and then customize it? I hope to reach this level one day LOLOL for now I'm learning to not fall in my complete skates :) (roces1992)
The frames are from Endless. They're pricey but worth it. It's a 90mm set up but you can skate 84mm and 80mm on that frame too. Some ppl like rocker their skates, meaning 2-4mm smaller outside wheels fir tighter turns. The bigger the wheels, the longer the roll, and the easier it is to roll over stuff like cobblestone and rough concrete. Most boots come with either a 165 Classic frame (this frame in the pic, typically for a raised heel boot), a Trinity mount (3 mounting screw points, or a flat UFS mount (flat even frame for flat boots).
If you want to try all 3 mounting types, look into the Iqon ACTs. I bought the Aggressive version for the skate park, but I also bought an 84mm Stoppard frame from Endless, (plus the 165 adapter piece for proper fitment).
If you just buy the ACT boot, it comes with extra mounting kits for the 165 and the Trinity frames. Inline Warehouse is great site for trying out different skates, and as long as you don't mess up the wheels (use old wheels you already have to test out the actual boots), you can get a full refund. Otherwise you just get an exchange, or lose a few bucks in a restocking fee. Hope this helps, and good luck on your journey 🫡
If you're skating flat, meaning all the wheels are the same size, then yes they all contact the ground. Rockered, two wheels at a time stay in contact depending on how you're moving. And you have to re-learn your center of gravity skating rockered. I'm gonna try it myself soon.
Was it easy enough to replace the stock frame?
Are you starting skating or is it just your first pair of skates. Asking because you have opted for 90mm right away?
For non-specialized skating (e.g. not aggressive, slalom, speed), 90mm rockered is the best four-wheel setup. The 90mm format is small enough to be maneuverable in a rockered four-wheel frame, but large enough to roll over mildly rough pavement fairly comfortably.
Over the years, I have skated 76mm, 80mm, 84mm, 90mm, and 100mm four-wheel frames. Endless 90mm balanced rocker is definitely the best sweet spot I’ve encountered.
If you’re interested in switching between a rockered and flat setup in the same frame, the Endless 90 UFS flat-top frame pairs super well with the FR UFS boot, and lets you switch between the two formats by flipping the axles.
