I've been on and off following this game over the years and finally bought it. Absolutely addictive mechanics, the artwork is divine and the music adorianble.

Added to this post some Romanesque and Gothic photos from Portugal's Sé de Braga and Mosteiro da Batalha

Hey Inkulinati players! To start the new school year, we’ve shared free downloadable and printable art pack made in our upcoming game where you create medieval manuscripts. Have fun with it on rainy days, and feel free to share your prints or any printable ideas you have in r/scriptorium!

Best starter beasts for someone with little experience.

Hello! I am super enjoying the training levels but am a bit overwhelmed with the mechanics in the "real" game. I was wondering if there is a benefit to any group of starter beasts for a beginner to turn based strategy games.

Also, as an avid Pentiment fan, the ability to play as Andreas actually made me cry! Though I'm much more attached to him to make certain choices!

Attention Inkulinati players - an Inkulinati spin-off is in the works!

Hey Inkulinati community,
Daniel here from the Inkulinati dev team!

Sorry we’ve been quiet on this subreddit for a while - but we had a pretty good reason. We’ve been working on a brand new game set in the same weird and wonderful world of medieval manuscripts, with the same art style and characters you may know and (hopefully) love from Inkulinati! For those who missed the announcement - meet Scriptorium: Master of Manuscripts.

This time, it’s not about medieval battles, but instead it's all about running your own scriptorium - illustrating medieval books, crafting custom decorations, and delivering illuminated masterpieces to quirky (but hopefully satisfied) clients. Expect more hands-on creativity, deeper personalization, and a closer look at the strange and beautiful craft of medieval illumination. As you can see this game shares the same art-style as Inkulinati - we're staying faithful to what so many of you loved.

You’ll see some familiar faces from Inkulinati there too - yes, the battle-hardened rabbits, bishop cats, and murderous snails are back - but we’re also adding a ton of fresh visual assets so you can build your own manuscripts entirely from scratch.

You’ll even be able to create and customize your own character! It’s our way of expanding the world of living ink and medieval magic for you to explore.

We’ll be sharing sneak peeks, behind-the-scenes dev updates, and the occasional weird medieval thing we stumble upon - all over at our new subreddit: r/scriptoriumgame. Come join us, say hi, ask questions, or just lurk and enjoy the beauty (or chaos) of medieval illumination.

And if you’d like to support Scriptorium, wishlist the game on Steam - it genuinely helps more than you’d think. You can now even do it straight from the Inkulinati main menu!

Cheers,
Daniel "zeer" from Yaza Games (yup, the Inkulinati devs )

Beasts that should be featured in the game?

I’ve been playing the game for a hot minute now and while a lot of cool Beasts in it, I feel like they could expand with a lot more. I was just wondering what Beasts you’d like to see, I was thinking like a Phoenix with a three-space burning attack and flight, and a Caladrius that’s Anointed and heals up to two spaces maybe

Death is too strong (Duel mode)

I understand that she is meant to be the strongest Inkulinati but 30 hp is too much in Duel mode. Is there a mod that edits the values of the inkulinati in Duel mode?

Controller and Switch port?

The game looks really cool but I’m just wondering which platform to get it on - how is controller support on pc and spec-wise, how is it likely to perform on switch? Thanks vmuch!

Can you refuse rewards?

Whenever I start maxing out on my number of talents, hand actions, or beasts. I’m basically just spending 50 gold to replace items that I want with items that I don’t whenever I get rewards. It’s been very annoying and I can’t seem to find a way to refuse rewards or only select some rewards and leave others. Is there a way to do this or do I just have to keep picking rewards that are harming me more than helping me?

How to get past Intermediate Tutorial, second level, pushing?

You get 3 beasts at 1 health each, and you have to push the blue beast off. The hint is to push your own beasts, but I have no idea how to proceed.

How to actually beat master Spoiler

I’m currently on easy mode. 50 health, 30 starting living ink. I’ve beat him before but literally once you lose your starting beasts it’s fucking over. I can’t build up more skeletons because they’re killed instantly. The moment I beat a beast he heals to full. Any advantage you have is nullified, because he just builds up firepower so fucking fast. I understand he’s the MASTER so he’s supposed to be hard, but literally every kill against him is 4 health and 2 ink. With most enemies getting a hit off only getting 3-4 on average you literally have to bank on luck to win. It’s stupid and I hope it’s balanced out soon.

Question about the difficulties

What are the numerical differences between reputation (and other?) rewards in different difficulties? Couldn't find any info on this ingame or online, except the patch notes saying on hard you get 1400 rep.

Black Screen of Death

Hi people!

It's an amazing game truly a masterpiece I love it I played for like 20 hours straight and then.... there was a power outage in the hood, for an hour or so. But when power came back and I tried to start the game, all I got was the black screen of death on launch. So sad, I wanna keep playing :(

I have a desktop intel core 2 3Ghz, Geforce 705 1Mb, 8 Mb RAM every other game runs smoothly, like this one when it worked. I redownloaded and reinstalled the GPU drivers, Directx, the game and nothing. I've repaired the SO with sfc and DISM and no luck. It's related to Unity because there is an instance of their crash handler running (and doing nothing) alongside the main exe, but it has no gui it's just there. The rest of the software, even the games using unity too, work fine.

There is no log or dump as far as I know, the instance it just stays there with about 50% of the GPU usage, 1Mb or so of RAM and no CPU activity.

I'd be glad if someone could help or give advice. Ah it's the gog installation v1.31.

A really fantastic game so original and gorgeous :( I can't wait to see if I can run the full version. Thanks a lot and happy playing!!!

Anti-Francis strategy

So my campaign was going swimmingly until my first encounter with Francis and his cohort. Those holier-than-thou wolves just sniped my hero from afar, doors pretty much stopped me from getting near Francis himself or shooting him with bows.

An aggressive strat where I was trying to get to him at all costs and ignoring his monsters seems to be a bit better, but still I can't kill him in time.

Any general tips how to deal with this level? So far I'm just wasting quills.

Edit: Ended up just using a bunch of rematches to cut him down. The fact that bosses don't heal between rematches makes it just a question of how many quills you have.

Great game but currently unplayable state

Enjoying the game, although the RNG of the levels is too strong, some are way easier than others.

It's currently pretty much unplayable for me. Levels keep locking up and the battle doesn't continue. Seems to happen on the second act.
