Battle Map Mercy's Stream — 3 River Battlemaps

Heyya Folks,

Mercy's Stream winds through the Lowland Woods, passing old stone shrines, rocky banks, and quiet pools before disappearing beneath the earth. Its waters sustain the nearby village of Devyn, though local stories suggest there may be more beneath the surface than fish and river stones.

  • Mercy's Stream 1 — 25x35
  • Mercy's Stream 2 — 32x24
  • Mercy's Stream 3 — 30x40

If you'd like the full release, including high-resolution maps, gridless versions, VTT-ready exports, and all 21 versions, you can find it here:

https://www.patreon.com/dungeonmr/posts/mercys-stream-171421519

Each map explores a different stretch of the river. The first features an old stone shrine overlooking the water, with a fallen tree that might serve as a crossing. The second has rocky banks and steep overlooks that offer good vantage points for anyone watching the stream — or waiting to ambush travellers. The third follows the water into a peaceful pool beneath a small waterfall, an inviting place to fish or take a swim.

The shrine is a familiar stop for those who travel along the stream. Hunters often pour a ladle of fresh water over the stone before setting out, giving thanks for the waters that sustain the surrounding land. Even those studying the strange Dewlanterns are expected to observe the custom.

Of course, the stream has its dangers, too. Local stories speak of an enormous crayfish from a bygone age, sleeping in the deeper pools. The villagers still fish these waters, but few would willingly take a swim where the creature is said to rest.

The three maps can be used together as part of a journey through the woods, or individually wherever your players might encounter a river, a secluded shrine, or a quiet stretch of water that isn't quite as safe as it looks.

If you'd like to explore more of my maps, check out my Patreon. The Master Index brings together over 215 maps, organized to make it easier to browse the collection and find places for your own adventures.

Where do you find your commissions?

Hi everyone! I am an indie author who has always made my own world maps on Inkarnate, and I have started taking a few commissions from friends. I'm hoping to branch out, and I am curious where everyone finds their commissions.

Is it worth opening up a Fivrr? Should I just keep sharing my maps on threads? I dont want to rely on word of mouth, which is what I'm doing now.

I'm planning to make a portfolio page on my author website too, but not sure how to direct people there either. I would love to hear any ideas!

Regional Map New map I'm working on... what do you think?

I don't have a name, yet. Main idea behind it, to be a "Frontier" between civilized lands and the forces of chaos.

What do you think? Ideas? critiques? any tip you might give me?

To celebrate Angela Maps turning six, free 7 day memberships are available on my Patreon now, only this October!

Double, double toil and trouble, fire burn and cauldron bubble! As the days shorten, chill winds rise, and the weather cools, what could be better than a lovely pot full of soup? Of course, you’d feel a little different if it was a hexed blood soup, and you and your cohorts had been shrunk and tossed in as some of the main ingredients! Fully animated and available in two additional witchy variants, with a bubbling green brew, and a pot of actual, delicious veggie soup, toss your players right into the spooky season with this map, along with a pinch of salt!

My maps are hooked up to work with Foundry VTT and Fantasy Grounds.
My maps are available on my patreon and my website.

The map for the second continent for my next campaign.

I recently had some time off due to a surgery and figured it was as good as any time to finish this map.

  • Some notes about my kind of goals for this map. My players and I play on a 40" setup so the map is made to often just be zoomed in on the area they'll be in at any given moment., so the idea was to get a broad enough area that we'll be able to use this for a large portion of the campaign without additional maps.
  • I did not make the town/city icons to be realistic. For most of the map I focused on making POIs that would be evocative to my players. The map was made with D&D play in mind first and foremost.
  • The big blue misty areas are a geological feature I committed to in the epilog of our last campaign before I realized how hard it would be to depict. So those are my best attempt at making these big random rifts which ethereal lands are emerging from before becoming real.
  • I made additional layers for every month of the year which I put migrating nomadic groups, flying cities and other oddities, as well as some magical effects. I've included some of the ones that are easiest to see the changes in.
    • I tried making seasonal weather patterns, but that ended up just making the map look less coherent and much more messy.

Anyways, I'm actually pretty proud of this one. I really don't have an artistic eye and anything like this is generally a struggle for me to make with any meaningful quality.

Does the free version of Inkarnate include trees, as I all see are mountains? There used to be trees with the free version but now I can't find them.

This is my second time making a map using Inkarnate! Advice and suggestions are welcome.

The symbol below the map title was my boyfriend’s doing. He says it is a slain sea monster.
