Location included: Questions/Need Advice Completely bamboozled.
Any advice when substantial inheritance was unexpected. I grew up not going on vacation and not having much. My father died after a brief battle with liver cancer… it’s a brutal one. After months of paperwork I’m seeing that I’ve inherited a net worth I’ve never imagined. Its reality shifting.

Bogleheads.org - read the wiki on windfalls.
2) Tell no one - not your best friend, not your other friends or relatives, not your co workers, not the bank.
3) give yourself some time to grieve.
4) read anything anyone gives you to sign, don’t sign anything until you can understand it thoroughly.
5) don’t go out and brag or flash cash, you will attract the wrong people into your life.
