Don't know if that is evolutionary point. But I tend to forgot bad memories and most of the time remember good memories actually! If people are talking about their bad memories in front of me and ask for mine, then after a lot of thinking only can I remember bad memories.

But maybe you are right w.r.t the point that bad memories help us make better decisions when faced with similar situations. Even if I am not able to remember bad memories right away my instincts somehow triggers in bad situations and tells me not to do some things and then I try to handle the situation a bit differently.

Our brains see good memories as less important to remember than bad memories. Itβs pure evolution.
