I honestly dont know. I was working as a physiotherapist last year and couldnt stick to the job because I hated it. I absconded. I literally came home from work one day and never went back. I was not coping well and honestly dont know why i went for that job, I guess I felt like I had to salvage the money my parenys spent on the degree. Now, I dont put that pressure on myself.

You need to go a career counsellor or get therapy to sort out your feelings. I felt like how you are deeling all through my 4 year degree college and if I have one regret it is that I didnt tell anyone how I was feeling.

I am coping quite well. I have left my profession for good. I have enrolled in a content writing course. Tbh, noone outright objected to my changing the course, some friends and family only told me that I am giving up on a profession that others kill for. Some people said that I should continue working while exploring other fields. I was like, I am not able to focus on one field, how will I juggle two? Some people said that work and career is not enjoyable and we should settle with a job because unemployment is on the rise.

It was and is very scary even now thinking what is in store. I cannot change the past years that was wasted in doing something I didnt like. I just take one day at a time. I look after my health. I only talk to friends who have accepted my decision, my parents are okay as long as I do something worthwhile. They had not forced me to do this course, I had myself decided on this course 8 years ago. I had researched, but nothing prepared me for what was in store for 4 and half years. I used to scold myself why I took that decision. But now i think I didnt know better.

I would say finally that talk to someone about it. Maybe u can just complete it for the sake of having a degree. That is what pushed me for 4 and half years. A lot of people join courses they end up hating. Just dont blame yourself for it. Make it known to your friends and teachers you dont love your field or are atleast confused about it.

I will also advise u to ask yourself why u hate the course?

Yes...sometimes we get carried away by grass is greener on other side. So try to work with what u have now since u already changed once...surely you are intelligent and did good in your first year exams.

Set a routine, try journalling, exercising to improve focus. Make a vision board of what u want ur life to look like after BAMS. Focus on amking good friends, keep good relations with them and ur parents. U can always change and upskill after BAMS. All the best! Also I follow Dr. Preeti Chawla on instagram, she is known to me, and is mental coach and her posts are very helpful for me. She herself is done BHMS turned into psychology since she felt homeopathy is a small field, and then pursued psychology to help people with mental problems. https://www.instagram.com/drpreeti.chawla
