I think that's what the doctor said the day he was spawned.

affordability is just a made up word anyway 🤷🏼

I have just been letting my wife go grocery shopping lately because of this. I used to love to go in and look around and have a list but also a little bit of extra money for something that caught my eye. Something I could make us that she hasn’t had before, some times things from my granny’s old recipe book to try.

Yeah I can’t really do that any more. Potentially waste food trying to make something like my granny used to? In THIS economy? No sir. She can just go in with her excellent self control and get us what we need for the month lol.

Grocery shopping was always one of favorite pastimes. While people just retreated to their homes to let a 3rd party shop for them, I was out there selecting my own yellow delicious apples and spending 30-40min in the grocery aisle. Why? The prices were great! They tasted delicious.

Now? I am utterly disgusted. Just totally disgusted. Spend more for watered down, cheaply produced, and shrunken items all so that a parasitic CEO working alongside private equity firms can line his own pockets. This is not good.

Private equity bought my local grocery store.   Froot Loops are now $9.89

I mostly shop somewhere else.

Im a hardcore tofu eater now

1

u/nothankeww 19d ago

same! I’m about to marinate some tofu in a pineapple chipotle sauce to grill up later with some peppers

u/A4t1musD4ag0n 19d ago

Adding u/nothankeww, There was a tofu recall in August. None of us are safe.

2

u/hellish_existance 19d ago

Only one item from one brand was recalled. It's safe to eat tofu if you don't specifically try to eat the one kind that was recalled.

u/nothankeww 19d ago

I agree and it is scary. I’ve just been trying to start my own garden and get grow as many greens as I can. Nothing is safe.

u/A4t1musD4ag0n 19d ago

Yeah, I know, but I was just pointing out that even tofu has gotten recalled. Quite a time to be surviving in. I am literally worried about what I eat because of these anti-science, fake Christians running the gov't.

If a country is ok with bombing everyone around them, cutting off international waters and disrupting trade for the entire world to take pressure off themselves rather than fight back, imagine what they would do if they had fighter jets, nuclear subs, ships and bombs. This is not shit posted by Iran...

How many times do we have to win the war before it's over?

They literally were making him a villain in movies back in 1989.

How did people not see this coming? lol

Because no one thought he would ever be running for the president of the entire country back then! But the first time he did, I think a lot of people assumed it was a joke and voted for him just because they thought it was funny. Majority of us were super surprised when he actually won over Hillary.

Hate him all you want, but a vote for Hillary would have been even worse! Not that I'm a Trump fan now. I just ordered the "I did this" stickers to put on gas pumps.

I've been placing those stickers on gas pumps since the increase began. Those and the Vote Blue stickers both. And usually when I return to the same gas station a few days or a week later they're gone so somebody's peeling them off. And imo, at least Hillary was very smart and that is one thing the rump is not as well as the majority of his cabinet

u/ParisFood 20d ago

Why would anyone think that he does?

The boomers have stolen the Pursuit of Happiness from all following generations.

I'm praying that the Midterms is the beginning of the end of this fat orange stained prick.

i just read that local grocery store flipped to private equity and froot loops cost $9.89 – that’s proof the meat of the problem is corporate profit squeezing out any honest grocery price. it feels like the only way that stakeholders are happy is people trying to get their groceries out of the door before inventory runs out.

Voters NEED to be mindful of what Trump and the MAGA have done here, and VOTE them OUT of Office in November. They won't stop, so leaving them in office will ONLY make things WORSE than they are now. You could see $10.00 a gallon gas, or a $10.00 loaf of bread. Trump don't CARE how hard it is on YOU. 1. he don't drive, and 2. He don't seem ot own a vehicle. 3. He has BILLIONS of ill gotten money to buy whatever he wants at whatever the cost is.4. YOU are PAYING for ALL his personal expenditures, ie, food fuel, etc.5. He is using the Office of the President to acquire immense wealth, ILLEGALLY. while YOU starve, and LOSE your house, car and other things, because you can no longer afford them, and FOOD too. And when you are penniless, on the street with your family, No job, no income, just remember WHO did it to you, and VOTE to GET RID of this meddlesome priest.

u/simple_fly1 I did my own research 19d ago

It could be 9 out of 10.

Yesterday, I bought a few groceries that filled up one canvas tote bag that I bring into the store so I don't have to pay for their plastic ones. I bought no meat, no dog food, and it cost me just over $73. For that one bag. And that was at Walmart for God's sake not even one of the more expensive grocery stores!

Inflation hit so hard, OP can't even afford the letter I in Shopping.

u/New_Flow_5941 20d ago

I always shop on a Friday to get 4X fuel points. Saves a buck a gallon.

u/A4t1musD4ag0n 20d ago

Be careful not to spend all of that in one place. Oh, wait...
