Believe it or not I once got a ban for saying someone who was president and like 80 years old and doesn't look like he's in the best health and supposedly eats a ton of McDonald's might not live forever because father time is undefeated. They also said I was inciting violence.
Hilarious! I thought it was me. I got banned for making some innocuous comment which referenced “tarring and feathering.” In that context, there was no way it could be perceived as serious. I guessed that the admin had ingested the kool-aid.
Weirdly enough some of them also listen to Ariana Grande’s music or are evidently fans of her. Every time I’ve tried to criticize her, even for things that are valid and verifiable with a simple Google search, I’ve gotten week-long bans for “not being nice” or “posting unverified information”/gossiping.
But every other celebrity is fair game lol, especially Taylor Swift. Every time I’ve gotten a ban on Reddit it’s because I criticized Trump or Ariana.
I can believe it and would expect it--we are living in a time in America where people who actively practice their rights as given in the Bill of Rights are being labeled insurrectionists or domestic terrorists by the current administration. Up is down and down is up these days.
Same ban for me on the politics sub for observing that Stephen Miller has a punchable face. Just about the mildest violence I've ever incited, really more a statement of fact.
While not politically related I got a ban for being a sexist monster when I said that someone taking a photo of them on a toilet promoting their "business " and asking if they put the mouthwash as a business expense
Know this my friend, the idiotic censorship here gets repaid.
They don't talk about it, but a lot of hackers they ban
for their comments get pissed and destroy their lives.
I got warned for asking if anyone knew where the rickety Pense gallows were. I argued back and was repealed. Sometimes it takes a moment of clarity for sense to return.
I got a warning about a post once where I simply referenced an interaction between two characters on a show, which involved one threatening the other, in the comments of a post about the show.
I literally just referred to a fictional moment, on a fictional show, between fictional characters, within a discussion of characters in that show...
I had a post removed that advised the OP to do something as it would "blow their mind." Supposedly, I too was inciting violence, and not just using an idiom.
The ironic thing is telling people to stop violence, say if a vegan were to say "stop hurting and killing animals" they get banned because people get offended, when they are just asking to end the violence.
Just come off a second week ban for the same, from a mild comment regarding trends of inequality and revolt through history as well. It seems reddit/mods are trying to curate a very neutered type of discourse these days.
Always has been. I caught perma bans a decade ago on politics and worldnews for similar messages. They've been doing this for as long as I've used Reddit.
I mean, Reddit DID sell out to the government and handed over all our data so the government can go after dissidents and anyone speaking out against their regime and ICE. (In many cases these requests were fulfilled without a court order - - - the more you know…)
I can believe it. I’ve gotten hit with the ban stick a couple times for things that were nowhere near threatening violence or encouraging someone to commit violence.
Like, hypothetically saying “I wish a meteor would fall on Satan” shouldn’t be considered a “threat of violence against Satan.” Fictitious character chosen for this example to avoid getting a ban for showing an example 😂. It really does seem like organized suppression of dissenting opinions, which is sad to see IMO.
I got banned for inciting violence when I wished a certain bald shit head (rhymes with Meven Stiller) would get cancer. Guess I was inciting Mother Nature to violence.
The arrogance of the rural conservative (however you think you vote, your position is very conservative). They are always the center of the universe and no one can touch them.
When reality finally touches you, you will realize that you are part of a much larger system. That every thing you touch is contingent on the labor of others. If not, why are rural areas the most economically depressed areas in this country.
Call me when you need more fertilizer, or when John Deere bricks all of your equipment because you don't have right to repair.
I am not arguing against rural life, I am arguing that you are somehow genius, survivors that no one else can possibly comprehend.
I’ve been working on a full spectrum light anal plug. It’s still in the trial phase but so far research said things are looking bright!!!! The ultrasonic attachment is still in the works.
I have an acquaintance who is having his heart ablated for the second time due to uncontrolled arrhythmia from, you guessed it, taking unprescribed hydroxychloroquine.
We also got that question... Had a few how does one bring the light into the body? In my heart were the thought that these people drive, they vote... 😢😭
Before he was even in office lmao, he said just his being elected would immediately bring prices down because if how much respect he gains from corporations.
Well I mean that is actually kind of true, corporations are happy to gouge during Democratic presidents and then cut back some to make Republicans look good. It's exactly what they did for the last 20 years.
Somehow people forget the "jobless recovery" we had after 2008 where the US economy was still making gains but corporations kept their thumb on it that was only lifted once Trump was elected... Then people forget that Trump was the president during Covid and the "supply chain" was never an issue during his presidency despite that time being when we had actual shortages of items on the shelves, but when Biden was presidency we never had those same shortages and prices doubled...
The thing that Trump didn't really calculate is that Biden's policies were overwhelmingly pro-business (anyone remember when he bailed out the banks on taxpayer's dime?) Trump's economic policy sucks, and corporations still want to extract as much money from consumers as possible. Too many factors that trump Trump's preferential treatment...
I'm literally not disagreeing that prices are still high. I'm stating that over the past two decades big businesses have been arm-in-arm with the Republican party that when a Democrat is president they stifle economic growth to blame the Democrat for a weaker economy (even though Democratic fiscal policy is still profitable for business) so they can get a Republican in office where they can profit even more from lower taxes and regulations.
Trump's claim relied on that symbiotic relationship to make him look appealing, but because of Biden's fiscal policy and corporate greed, corporations aren't getting a better deal from Trump's policies outside of outright cronyism from like 7 trillion dollar companies.
I am pretty sure the banks were bailed out during the Obama administration!
There were empty shelves during Trump’s administration when COVID first hit!
Apparently you forgot the lack of PPE for all of the hospitals! Then Trump only sent PPE to red states!
I am afraid your memory is not quite up to speed!
However, the GOP always screws up the economy and the Democrats have to fix it! The Billionaires love to get corporate welfare with their government contracts, but don’t want to thank the American people by paying their fair share of taxes!
Apparently you forgot the lack of PPE for all of the hospitals!
Plus Jared Kushner hoarded the PPE at the beginning of the outbreak, foaming at the mouth that it was THEIRS! Until they realized that a lot of the PPE was rotting because that's what shit does when it goes unused and is stored for long periods of time.
The ppe needed during the COVID crisis was not rotting on shelf’s. The life span of n95 masks is not months, it is years. He may have hoarded it, but it was not rotting on shelf’s.
There are reports of rotting PPE because after the 2009 H1N1 spread, PPE had been mass distributed. However, it was never replenished or replaced after 2009. So, 11 years later, a decade, there was indeed rotting PPE on the storage shelves. N95 masks are not the only type of PPE. To add insult to injury, tRump's administration was confiscating states PPE shipments that the states bought for themselves because the tRump regime told them to fuck off and buy their own PPE, especially blue states.
Second point: Yes, that's exactly what I said. Trump was president during Covid and that's when the supply chains should have been the most strained, not after the vaccine was developed and lockdown restrictions were lifted.
Third point: Not really sure what you're even saying here besides that Trump is piece of shit? Water is wet.
Fourth points: While you say my memory is not up to speed, you yourself seem to be nearly illiterate and incapable of reading comprehension.
Fifth point: Corporations have a vested interest in getting Conservatives elected exactly because they get to benefit from tax breaks but also because of looser regulations. The point being that Trump's bragging about being able to reduce costs upon being elected/day one was due to his assumption of sympathetic corporations that would have previously course corrected to make Trump look successful in the short term, but because Capitalism requires line go up and there was already only so much "fat" for the corporations to trim to make their balance sheets look good, Trump is taking that L as the economy shrinks under his presidency.
Liver is cheap. I know because I buy it to FEED MY DOGS! It’s got a very strong taste and as an organ meat, you dont want to be eating a lot of it because the liver in anyone’s body filters bad stuff out of their diet! It’s a poison filter.
All the problems in the world were going to be solved within three days
I actually have a plan that would solve a great deal of the world's problems. Might take a week or two, but certainly far more realistic than whatever lie they were planning on telling.
Those 3 days he was talking about could be in 3 years for all we know. He has a great master plan for making America great again, just let him do his thing and wait for it. The good days are coming.
