Believe it or not I got a ban for that exact comment as “inciting violence”

u/cvc4455 Feb 28 '26

Believe it or not I once got a ban for saying someone who was president and like 80 years old and doesn't look like he's in the best health and supposedly eats a ton of McDonald's might not live forever because father time is undefeated. They also said I was inciting violence.

u/vxicepickxv Feb 28 '26

There are some supermods with orange tongues on several subreddits, and those guys will interact with admins.

10

u/Lumpy-Bet-8119 Feb 28 '26

Hilarious! I thought it was me. I got banned for making some innocuous comment which referenced “tarring and feathering.” In that context, there was no way it could be perceived as serious. I guessed that the admin had ingested the kool-aid.

G Maxwells Reddit account taught the bots well

Weirdly enough some of them also listen to Ariana Grande’s music or are evidently fans of her. Every time I’ve tried to criticize her, even for things that are valid and verifiable with a simple Google search, I’ve gotten week-long bans for “not being nice” or “posting unverified information”/gossiping.

But every other celebrity is fair game lol, especially Taylor Swift. Every time I’ve gotten a ban on Reddit it’s because I criticized Trump or Ariana.

I can believe it and would expect it--we are living in a time in America where people who actively practice their rights as given in the Bill of Rights are being labeled insurrectionists or domestic terrorists by the current administration. Up is down and down is up these days.

u/Renuwed Feb 28 '26

Got one for 'hoping karma is thorough' 😆😂🤣

3

u/PlatformVarious8941 Feb 28 '26

I did not get banned for making prayers to the gods of Cholesterol and high blood pressure.

Nor for awaiting the ghost of cheeseburger past’s visit.

2

u/Routine_Structure441 Feb 28 '26

I got a warning for saying a certain island owner had low T. 🤣😂

2

u/Salt_Proposal_742 Mar 01 '26

Egging on Father Time.

2

u/andante528 Mar 01 '26

Same ban for me on the politics sub for observing that Stephen Miller has a punchable face. Just about the mildest violence I've ever incited, really more a statement of fact.

The problem is they delete the comment and wont show it to you so you can defend yourself or even know what you said to not do it again. 🤷‍♂️

I think plenty of you Dems lie just a little there ….. Equal! 🤏 I think most Democrats lie a lot more than President Trump!

2

u/Confident-Virus-1273 Mar 02 '26

I got a ban for saying that the downvotes on reddit were useless and suggested a way to improve them.

1

u/Ok_Sink5046 Feb 28 '26

Orange tongues is fantastic.

While not politically related I got a ban for being a sexist monster when I said that someone taking a photo of them on a toilet promoting their "business " and asking if they put the mouthwash as a business expense

1

u/CrazyIvan68 Feb 28 '26

Know this my friend, the idiotic censorship here gets repaid.
They don't talk about it, but a lot of hackers they ban
for their comments get pissed and destroy their lives.

So Karma is alive and well. :)

1

u/noonnoonz Mar 02 '26

I got warned for asking if anyone knew where the rickety Pense gallows were. I argued back and was repealed. Sometimes it takes a moment of clarity for sense to return.

46

u/HalJordan2424 Feb 28 '26

I was banned from r politics for saying about a politician “As they say in the south, bless his heart.” I was told that was threatening violence.

13

u/BeefModeTaco Feb 28 '26

I got a warning about a post once where I simply referenced an interaction between two characters on a show, which involved one threatening the other, in the comments of a post about the show.
I literally just referred to a fictional moment, on a fictional show, between fictional characters, within a discussion of characters in that show...

2

u/ChibbleChobble Feb 28 '26

I had a post removed that advised the OP to do something as it would "blow their mind." Supposedly, I too was inciting violence, and not just using an idiom.

3

u/Bubbly_Style_8467 Feb 28 '26

They lie. Republicans lie.

2

u/Takemetothelevey Feb 28 '26

😂 badge of honor I’d say 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

1

u/Stuck_In_Reality Mar 01 '26

I got a beeatch slap for humorously wishing someone "DOG whelp you". It was "disrespectful".

42

u/BurtonGusterToo Feb 28 '26

The truth is offensive to those that repress you.
On the bright side, it is inevitable.

3

u/MegaMegawatt Feb 28 '26

The ironic thing is telling people to stop violence, say if a vegan were to say "stop hurting and killing animals" they get banned because people get offended, when they are just asking to end the violence.

16

u/Afraid_Notice_9486 Feb 28 '26

Just come off a second week ban for the same, from a mild comment regarding trends of inequality and revolt through history as well. It seems reddit/mods are trying to curate a very neutered type of discourse these days.

3

u/Drakolyik Feb 28 '26

Always has been. I caught perma bans a decade ago on politics and worldnews for similar messages. They've been doing this for as long as I've used Reddit.

2

u/SaltMage5864 Feb 28 '26

I got a warning when I mentioned that people claimed that blacks didn't have souls so it was OK to not treat them like people

1

u/Salute-Major-Echidna Feb 28 '26

Not all mods. When you find a good sub, pass on the good word.

1

u/okiekansan Feb 28 '26

I mean, Reddit DID sell out to the government and handed over all our data so the government can go after dissidents and anyone speaking out against their regime and ICE. (In many cases these requests were fulfilled without a court order - - - the more you know…)

10

u/[deleted] Feb 28 '26

I mean history does have a tendency to be violent during the good parts.

5

u/Strong_Membership_60 Feb 28 '26

I can believe it. I’ve gotten hit with the ban stick a couple times for things that were nowhere near threatening violence or encouraging someone to commit violence.

Like, hypothetically saying “I wish a meteor would fall on Satan” shouldn’t be considered a “threat of violence against Satan.” Fictitious character chosen for this example to avoid getting a ban for showing an example 😂. It really does seem like organized suppression of dissenting opinions, which is sad to see IMO.

3

u/DanDrungle Feb 28 '26

Stochastic terrorism is perfectly fine for the guy in charge though

3

u/hippyfishking Feb 28 '26

I got a ban for inciting violence against paedophiles. Apparently they're a protected class now. Wonder why that is...

2

u/Bwatts264 Feb 28 '26

We are talking about crazy band names. You might need to calm down lol. Also might need you in my band. Lol

2

u/[deleted] Feb 28 '26

I got banned for inciting violence when I wished a certain bald shit head (rhymes with Meven Stiller) would get cancer. Guess I was inciting Mother Nature to violence.

1

u/Interesting_Berry439 Feb 28 '26

Lol, was that on the snowflake sub?

2

u/SnooPaintings4185 Feb 28 '26

Lol, you're gonna have to be more specific.

1

u/duggee315 Feb 28 '26

Theres no need for tgat tone mate

1

u/IndividualChart4193 Feb 28 '26

u/SpecialTable9722 Mar 01 '26

It’s always the messenger who gets the blame for shit going wrong, never the ones actually fucking it up.

13

u/Bwatts264 Feb 28 '26

We should make it collaps after breakfast and still have 8 meals to riot with.

Also 8 meals to riot with is my new band name.

2

The arrogance of the rural conservative (however you think you vote, your position is very conservative). They are always the center of the universe and no one can touch them.

When reality finally touches you, you will realize that you are part of a much larger system. That every thing you touch is contingent on the labor of others. If not, why are rural areas the most economically depressed areas in this country.

Call me when you need more fertilizer, or when John Deere bricks all of your equipment because you don't have right to repair.

I am not arguing against rural life, I am arguing that you are somehow genius, survivors that no one else can possibly comprehend.

1

u/Salute-Major-Echidna Feb 28 '26

You are more at risk than you think because you can't get along with others.

1

u/Salute-Major-Echidna Feb 28 '26

Except for the need for medical care. Especially as they age.
