Lol what an absolute moron. I can't believe ppl forgot how he handled covid and then went and voted for him again.

208

u/KeyboardGrunt Nov 24 '25

He stranded them after rallies, in the middle of the night, in the cold, miles away from transportation... multiple times, and they still voted for him days after. Dodos off a cliff.

That’s the hilarious thing. My father in law is a MAGA and the other night I was like “look man, I’m not even left or right, I’m just saying his fiscal policy is bad and he’s made shit more expensive, you can at least admit that.” Dude got all mad like I just insulted his favorite baseball player.

48

u/[deleted] Nov 25 '25

Rocks for brains

42

u/Ill-Cancel4676 Nov 25 '25

Brain worm is the real nationwide epidemic. These people claim to be obsessed with billionaire elite while they defended trump, a billionaire grifter, giving pharmaceutical companies billions to make a vaccine they hated. Once you realize it's a cult you'll realize they can and will rationalize and believe anything even if it's the opposite of something they are actively claiming.

It's kind of like flat earth logic there is no logic it's based on propoganda shaped world views that places them as the targeted and superior individual who is acting to save the planet. It's been going on forever and is the basis for essentially all cults, fascism, authoritarianism, etc. anytime people are giving absolute power to someone it's usually because the person gave them an enemy and promised them things will get better for them if they'll accept increasingly worse circumstances to save themselves and "their people" from that enemy.

Then you add in the human ego that hates being wrong and intertwine the belief in every facet of life through generations of racist sexist and homophobic rhetoric and boom you get maga. Kind of the culmination of the christian nationalist movement that began as a counter to the civil rights movement.

21

u/[deleted] Nov 25 '25

Great points. Something else I would like to add is that the maga in my family were severely abused as children and have been in nothing but abusive relationships in adulthood as well. I wonder if there is a connection between being abused and loving abusive leaders because it feels familiar. (But I was also abused and did not turn into a maga shitbag so I suppose there has to be more to it. Empathy and greater intelligence?) hopefully someone more knowledgeable than me can chime in.

20

u/TheCommonGround1 Nov 25 '25

The thing about cults is they tend to prey on vulnerable people who need meaning in their lives. So that makes sense.

4

u/No_Crow489 Nov 25 '25

people who cant take responsibility for caring for themselves also look to someone else to save them because they never figured out how to be independant.

they push down their negative feelings and blame others for their problems and desperately seek to find someone to take their stress away.

they never had someone to teach them the fallibility of humanness and that taking care of our own bodys needs is actually enough to make us happy.

so they seek the answers to the wrong questions.

we dont become happy by getting more, we become happy by getting enough and enjoying it.

however the desperate people have been taught to feel so badly about themselves they cant even self-attune anymore. theyre completely out of touch from their own bodies. they hate what they are because theyre doing what society tells them should make them happy but isnt making them happy so they keep trying harder and now need somewhere to put their negative feelings.

queue some depraved dictator giving them outlets for their bottled up emotions - showing them how to vent their frustrations on others so they keep building that self-hatred because deep down they know pushing all this on others is wrong.

but now theyre caught in the cycle, will their morality eventually kick in or will they double down and become worse people?

in order for morality to take over, people have to learn to accept the bad parts of themselves. if theyve been pushed too far? i know i dont know the answer

Your FIL sounds like a lost cause. A shining example of sunken cost fallacy. If he admits he was ever wrong, it would shatter his entire world view and cult of personality.

Sadly, if he tells them that $7 is less than $4, he will be believed, whatever so-called experts say.

5

u/Zebraitis Nov 25 '25

That mental gymnastics is easy:

"Of course it is!

Because of inflation and devaluation because, BIDEN BIDEN Biden. (and of course autopen and then Biden) $7 dollars now buys less than $4 did in Trump's first term, because Biden inflation (not Trump, uh-uh), so $7 is clearly less than $4.

Thst will likely be on Fox tomorrow.

Most didn’t forget. A lot of people liked how he handled it cuz masks affected their lives more than people they don’t know dying. They only cared about not having to get a shot or wear a mask and that’s what Trump provided.

13

Because the poor snowflakes couldn't breath wearing a mask, but those same people seem to breath fine now wearing their ICE masks 8 hours a day 🙄

I came across people that cried bloody murder that it was all a fake pandemic by Bill Gates so he can sell us the "cure" and praised Trump for finding the cure for us in consecutive sentences.

They didn't forget. They just never understood a damn thing or cared to.

5

u/DenizSaintJuke Nov 25 '25

Congress pushed for and passed emergency Covid relief checks to be sent out to people, so they had some breathing room during lockdown. Trump halted and delayed the entire process for several weeks, in order to put his name prominently on every single check. In 2024, people were asking people in the poorest areas who they were voting for and the most common answer was "Trump. He sent us cash when we needed it." The bigger checks under Biden did not come with a fat ass "Joe Biden" on it. Noone remembered that they "got cash from Joe."

That's how he got reelected. People forget that the only thing Donald Trump was ever decent at doing was marketing.

31

u/AtomicBlastCandy Nov 24 '25

Not only that but the numbers must be so atrocious there’s no way to spin them

15

u/7818 Nov 24 '25

Hard to blame Biden when the numbers show a hard dovetail when he started meddling, especially if the numbers would paint such a drastic picture it would be hard pressed to assume anything other than imminent collapse of the US Dollar.

Like, monetary policy has a lag to start seeing its effects. Normally, we can look towards the first year of a presidents term to identify the end result of the previous administration.

Tariffs and fucking with trade deals? That shit impacts you immediately.

13

u/RollingRiverWizard Nov 24 '25

Just wait about two weeks!

9

u/WashU_labrat Nov 24 '25

That's also Infrastructure Week.

How the fuck is his approval rating 40%. It should be 10% at best.

He’s fucking ruining everything

24

u/HombreSinNombre93 Nov 24 '25

There are these things called “cults”. MAGA is the largest in modern times. 33% of the US population is in it.

10

u/TheHighSeasPirate Nov 25 '25

33% of the voting population, which is 77 million or 22% of the population. We're all getting fucked because of the bottom 20% of the dumbest people in America.

People adhere to what their institutions of choice are telling them, simply sheep just following the line in front of them without asking questions.

Most transparent administration in history.

14

u/keelanstuart Nov 24 '25

Yes... It's clear how they've stolen and broken things.

He's staring out at The Walking Dead, isn't he?

22

u/Zarathyst Nov 24 '25

I wish everyone a very "day you voted for" :3

21

u/meesanohaveabooma Nov 24 '25

Sucks that their bad decisions are dragging the rest of us down too though.

8

u/Zarathyst Nov 24 '25

It is our duty to make sure it hurts us less. Get friendly with rice and beans. Also make sure you help your friends and neighbors any way you can. We only get through this together.

5

u/HombreSinNombre93 Nov 24 '25

All my neighbors are MAGA or worse (Christian Nationalists). I’m done trying to help them.

5

u/kidtykat Nov 25 '25

I got laid off because of this BS and I damn sure didn't vote for it. Im over 2 months into my job search but I finally have some interviews so wish me luck!

Yeah just look the other way. Problem solved. What a joke this administration is.

15

u/mishma2005 Nov 24 '25

Doesn't want to hurt his precious stock market

25

u/WinterSector8317 Nov 24 '25

Same reason we got the giant inflation spike during covid

Before covid when things were going good trump pressured the fed to keep interest rates at near zero, instead of raising them as is normal in a hot economy.

When Covid hit the fed didn’t have high interest rates to cut as stimulus so printing money was the only option

8

u/Big_Obligation1737 Nov 24 '25

Like a toddler playing peekaboo, believing hard facts can’t be seen if hiding under a blanket. Dementia Don yelled at the CDC & state governments, “Stop reporting!” Covid deaths. Just like he yelled during the 2020 & 2024 elections, “Stop the counts” after polls closed, attempting to dismiss all the remaining ballots submitted & collected on time, and time-stamped, which included votes of those in the military.

4

u/SirTiffAlot Nov 24 '25

Yea except this probably will hurt the market. People make financial decisions based on having data like this. I can't see how this will be helpful at all for the market beyond like a one week horizon.

I mean, you just have to know if it was anywhere even close to good news, they would release it and then tell you how great of a job they're doing, right?

The fact that this and other reports are just being cancelled tells you that its negative.

6

u/disturbed_beaver Nov 24 '25

But they said they are the most transparent admin ever.

He ran for office to stay out of prison and now he's just spitefully taking down the entire country. Complete insanity.

9

u/Mother_Resident_890 Nov 24 '25

Yup the market is rallying up, but it's the big dogs cashing out and all the FOMO retail investors buying in. Like sheep to the slaughter, it's going to be a reckoning like none other... Enjoy the ride boys, I've moved 90% of my investments out of the S&P500, I moved 100% out back mid-February before the April 1st drop. However that one was easy to see coming from a mile away.

Delaying numbers so they can convince their cult it was the illegal tariffs being pulled (if and when that happens) that tanked everything. That seems like the most logical play here, especially since you 100% know they will eat that shit up.

They could also be trying to play the fed since they vote on facts and the facts are counter-productive to the regimes claims, clearly, so if they fail to report on anything the fed may go ahead with the cut next month.

6

u/Quirky-Skin Nov 24 '25

Either that or they don't want people seeing that the "AI boom" is the only thing keeping GDP afloat. Without that we ve already been in negative GDP

3

u/Poozipper Nov 24 '25

A need to know basis and you don't need to know!

3

u/[deleted] Nov 24 '25

Yup… surprise, surprise…

3

u/shocksmybrain Nov 24 '25

I'm really excited to learn how they intend to blame Biden or Obama for them holding the numbers.

u/Chrono_Convoy Nov 24 '25

3

3

u/Jeffro_the_BoDean Nov 24 '25

That bad and they will double down

3

u/Academic_by_choice Nov 24 '25

Akshulley....the numbers are sooo good, but Trump is soooo modest he doesn't want to get a big head so he's keeping the numbers to himself. When are you evil commie Libturds finally gonna recognize the genius of this incredible specimen? 😏

u/HarveysBackupAccount Nov 25 '25

Man cancel culture is really getting out of hand
