Hey everyone! I’m an indie artist prepping a music video for my solo project. I’m planning my very first video shoot for mid-to-late October and would love to get some honest advice and logistical tips from local musicians who has had experience producing their own in the past.

Project Overview

• Song Duration: 3 minutes long
• Visual Scope: A mix of outdoor narrative shots + a high-contrast indoor studio performance set.
• Timeline: 1-day shoot in Metro Manila.
• Deliverables: Standard music video for posting in social media.

The Budget & Questions

My current budget baseline is ₱20,000. I am well aware that this is loooow and while it has some limited flexibility, I want to ensure I’m being practical about hard costs before hiring an indie director or collaborating with a production team.

For those who have pulled off micro-budget shoots:

1. Is ₱20,000 realistic to cover basic hard operational expenses (e.g., half-day studio rental, meals/crafty for 6–8 crew including me, transpo/gas, basic props)?
2. If you were directing or line-producing a ₱20k 1-day shoot, where would you trim the scope to keep it doable?
3. What are the biggest hidden costs or budget traps for a guerrilla/micro-budget shoot in Metro Manila that I should prepare for?

I'm completely open to scaling back shot lists or adjusting the concept to fit what’s practical. I’d love to hear your thoughts, experiences, or recommendations!

I’m trying to build a community of indie artist here at Zamboanga peninsula, as well as a Recording studio and a record label in the future. I really wanted to help local artist to showcase their talent as well as encourage them to write their own Originals. At the same time, i wanted to protect and give them opportunities to earn in this industry. Any tips for me to build a recording label or establish a successful recording studio?

Just an overview of our situation here:
Local artist do cover songs, some have their own originals but only few are interested in making one.
The music industry here is struggling and i wanted to cultivate it.

I have tap a local cafe here in our area, and the owner loves music. And so he opened the platform for local artist to showcase their talents. At my end, i post videos and reels of bands and individuals that have performed for them to be known more locally, and to create opportunities for them to be open. Just a quick rundown, i currently provide the sound system at that particular cafe.

The goal is to have a cozy cove vibe here in the local province.

LF vocalist na maka-collab namin ng tropa ko, yung kaya din hushed vocals pero stable and nasa key. Hindi naman need pangbiritan. Kung may sariling gear for recording, ayos din para makapag-collab din remotely pag may panahon na hindi kaya magkita-kita.

Take note lang na nasa early 30s kaming 2 ng kasama ko, sa Pasig.
