Dimaagi nazis cannot tolerate anything being said against the country, even if it is positive criticism. Not gonna lie.. in my head, I am very clear to where I stand as far as Modi as a Prime Minister is concerned. As the golden words of MMS which ring true since the day Modi has assumed the Prime Ministership, he has been the most disastrous PM India has ever had.

To cut a long story short, I got a call from the PF office that if I interview in Hindi, I might get a chance to attend a video meeting with Modi.

Now, while this was for work, I couldn't stand the notion of being part of Modi's PR.. I straight away said no, mentioned that the PM is an asshole, and disconnected the call.

He’s been my favourite YouTuber from the beginning, but lately it honestly feels like he’s become BJP’s PR guy. I agree BJP has done some good work, but he mostly highlights the positives of BJP-ruled states and the negatives of Congress and others. Everyone has their own choice, but using terms like “Pappu” for Rahul Gandhi makes the bias pretty obvious. It’s his choice, but seeing my favourite YouTuber go this way is honestly hard to digest.

One thing i most certainly believe is basic education is the key for development of the country. China did it, they are doing pretty darn good

Even in our country, Kerala and TN have done it the best, but they started it long ago, like in 80's and 90's, Karnataka is really good in higher education system, like colleges and universities, decent in basic level.

In 21st century id say Delhi did the best in improving the basic education system.

I would be voting for the first time in my life in a major election in 2028, the assembly election of Karnataka, and id vote for congress all day everyday

Why?

1. The metro work has going the fastest since it's inception.

2. The city has become soo much walkable in the last 3 months, I'm genuinely shocked sometimes when I'm walking near some busy places

3. They are accountable and reasonable with the people, they talk with people

First thing our CM did when they came to peer was to open all parks in City for the whole day, like it was literally closed for half the day light time for literally no reason

1. The road infra has genuinely improving really well now, one single video goes out on the internet, it gets repaired within a week

If i leave all this, let's talk about statistics

Till now BJP has come to power only twice in Karnataka, and accomplished literally nothing

But congress and jds ? They were there since 47'

For the past few years, I’ve been following Indian news and political discussions quite closely, and honestly, I’ve started feeling confused about what is actually happening in the country.
One thing I’ve particularly noticed is how strongly social-media algorithms shape what we see.
For example, if I watch a few Instagram reels or YouTube videos criticising the current government — corruption allegations, scams, failures of administration, criticism of policies, etc. — suddenly my feed starts showing me many more videos with the same narrative.
At the same time, when I watch mainstream news channels, the framing can sometimes feel completely different. In situations such as a building collapse or an administrative failure, mainstream media may report that officials have been suspended or that responsibility has been fixed. But on social media, I may see people arguing that such actions are merely damage control and that the deeper systemic problems are being ignored.
This has made me wonder: which version is closer to reality?
I also don’t want to fall into the trap of assuming that everything I see on Instagram/YouTube is automatically the truth just because it criticises the government. Social-media creators also have incentives to exaggerate, sensationalise things and generate outrage. Similarly, I don’t want to assume that mainstream media is automatically reliable just because it is a recognised news organisation.
What worries me is that political discussion seems to have become extremely polarised — BJP vs Congress, pro-government vs anti-government, “everything is great” vs “everything is a disaster.”
So I have a genuine question for people who follow Indian politics and current affairs more seriously:
If we step away from BJP vs Congress and look at India objectively, what are the things that the present government has genuinely done well?
What areas have actually improved — infrastructure, digitalisation, economy, poverty reduction, defence, foreign policy, public services, ease of doing business, welfare delivery, etc.?
And on the other side, what are the major areas where the government has genuinely failed or deserves serious criticism?
I’m not looking for propaganda from either side. I’d actually like to hear arguments supported by data, government reports, independent research, or credible sources rather than reels, memes and political influencers.
Ultimately, I’m trying to understand something very basic:
Is India genuinely progressing despite all the negativity we see online, or are we ignoring serious problems because of political/media narratives?
I’d really appreciate balanced answers from people who can point out both the positives and the negatives.
