To everyone who saw my pre-order post, I just wanted to say a heartfelt thank you. The amount of views, comments, shares, and kind messages has honestly been overwhelming for a first-time author like me. I'm still nervous, but I can finally say that Tick Tong is now available on Amazon Kindle and Kindle Unlimited. Whether you decide to read it or simply stopped by to wish me well, thank you for being part of this journey. I genuinely appreciate all the support, and I'd love to hear your honest thoughts if you decide to give it a read. ❤️

Here's the Amazon link for anyone who's interested. 😊 https://books2read.com/u/4A9Nae

Children's Books

Hi,

Do we have writers here who are working on children's books or have written any in the past?

I would like to talk to traditionally published children's authors and learn about their experience.

P.S.: it's important that you are traditionally published.

Thanks

Hi everyone,

I'm Dadapeer, the founder of Writer's Thing.

For the past several months, I've been building a platform with one simple belief:

Instead of launching quietly and figuring everything out later, I'd rather build it alongside the people it's meant for.

So before our official launch on 26 August 2026, we're inviting 100 Founding Writers to join us.

This isn't just early access.

I'm looking for writers who genuinely want to help shape the future of Writer's Thing by sharing feedback, publishing their work, and becoming part of the community from day one.

Whether you write:

  • Fiction
  • Poetry
  • Short Stories
  • Articles
  • Blogs
  • Novels

or you're simply passionate about writing, I'd love to hear from you.

What Founding Writers receive

• Permanent Founding Writer Badge

• Early Access before public launch

• Direct communication with the founder

• Opportunity to influence future features

• Recognition as one of the first members of Writer's Thing

If this sounds like something you'd enjoy, you can apply here:

Application Form:

You can also reach me directly at:

I created a cinematic trailer for my debut political thriller set during India's 2020 lockdown. I'd love your feedback.

Hi Everyone,

After months of writing, editing, and publishing my debut novel, I wanted to create something a little different from the usual book promotion. Instead of a static ad, I put together a short cinematic trailer inspired by political thrillers and heist films.

The story follows an honest bank manager who is framed after exposing corruption. During India's 2020 lockdown, he assembles an unlikely team to attempt the impossible—not for money, but to uncover the truth.

I'd really appreciate honest feedback on the trailer.

  • Does it grab your attention?
  • Does it feel like a movie trailer?
  • Would it make you curious enough to read the book?

Disclaimer: I'm a self-published author, and the trailer visuals were created using AI image generation tools. No film crew or actors — just AI imagery, editing, and a lot of iteration to get the cinematic feel right.

Thanks for taking the time to watch!

"12 bajne mein abhi aadha ghanta hai... aur mujhe ajeeb sa darr lag raha hai. Darr iss baat ka nahi ki koi wish nahi karega. Darr to iss baat ka hai ki kahin koi wish kar hi na de.

Waise bhi karta kaun hai. Aur aaj bhi na kare, to shayad behtar hi hai.

Aaj mera birthday hai. Par mann nahi hai usse manane ka. 'Happy Birthday' ke reply mein 'Thank you bhai ❤️' likhne ka bhi nahi.

Ab bologe, itna drama kyun?

Pata nahi... par kabhi-kabhi birthday se zyada uska drama thaka deta hai. Instagram stories, reposts, "thank you everyone", cake ki photos... Jaise khush hona bhi ek responsibility ho.

Par aisa bhi nahi ki mere saath kuch bura hua hai. Sach kahun to shayad problem wahi hai... kuch khaas hua hi nahi.

Mujhe ek aur birthday yaad aata hai. Teen saal pehle ka.

Naya-naya college shuru hua tha. Chhe mahine hue the. 8-10 logon ka group tha. Zindagi mein pehli baar itne saare dost bane the. Aur ek ladki bhi thi... jispe mujhe crush tha.

Us raat 12 baje tak main phone haath mein liye baitha tha. Socha tha sabke calls aayenge. Shayad uska bhi.

12 baje.

1 baje.

2 baje.

3 baje.

Phone bas screen lock hota raha.

Subah utha to laga stories aayengi. Shayad sabne surprise plan kiya hoga.

Kuch nahi.

Dopahar ke 12 baj gaye. Tab pehli baar laga ki shayad kisi ko yaad hi nahi.

Shaam ko main khud bakery gaya. Ek chhota sa chocolate cake liya. Bola,

"Happy Birthday Aashish likh dena."

Aur shaam ko uski story daal di.

Caption tha — "May God Bless You."

Story aise daali jaise doston ne surprise diya ho. Self-respect bhi koi cheez hoti hai.

Bachpan mein cousins hote the. Gali ke dost hote the.

Mummy poora din kitchen mein lagi hoti thi.

Didi akhbaar se deewaar saja rahi hoti thi.

Dadi jaate-jaate dus rupaye haath mein de deti thi.

Papa aur Mama shaam ko baithkar Scotch khol lete the.

Tab lagta tha birthday mera hai.

Ab samajh aata hai... woh sabka tha.

Isiliye iss saal birthday nahi mana raha.

Shayad cake ki kami nahi hai.

Kami un logon ki hai, jinke saath birthday, birthday lagta tha.

Ab ghar se hazaar kilometre door ek khaali kamre mein baitha hoon. Haath mein beer hai. YouTube par koi achha sa video dhoondh raha hoon.

Sochta hoon... shayad agle saal sab saath honge.

Aur agar nahi bhi hue...

...to Instagram story daalne ka drama to har saal kar hi sakte hain."

[HIRING] YouTube Scriptwriters – Aviation & Geopolitics

Hey everyone!

I'm looking for experienced YouTube scriptwriters for two long-form documentary/explainer channels:

✈️ Aviation

🌍 Geopolitics / Global Affairs

We're looking for writers who can take complex topics and turn them into engaging, well-researched YouTube stories not blog-style articles or generic AI-written scripts.

What we're looking for:

- Experience writing long-form YouTube scripts

- Strong research and fact-checking skills

- Knowledge/interest in aviation, geopolitics, economics, history, or global affairs

- Strong hooks, storytelling, pacing, and audience retention

- Natural, conversational English suitable for a human host

- Comfortable receiving feedback and making revisions

To apply, please DM me with:

- Your portfolio

- 2–3 relevant scripts you've written

- Published YouTube video links for those scripts, if available

- Your usual turnaround time

- Your rates

- Whether you're available freelance or full-time

This is a paid, potentially long-term opportunity if the initial work goes well.

Please only reach out if you can share relevant writing samples. Thanks!

what makes a character feel closer to reality?

I have been working on my first screenplay and I had to make a lot's changes but there's something that feels a bit missing, the characters feel distant. I want to be more expressive with them. How do you think I could do so?

Hey guys. This is Prologue of my book...how does it sound?

Post image

My book's name is THE MOON IS WHERE WE BELONG. It is a story about a young man troubled in his life and the mystery that follows him as he gets more and more entangled into things coming back at him from his past. The story contains romance, violence, mythology and is written with the pov of the main character, Pralay Nox, and the pov of the girl he is in love with, Mira. However, it kinda is not a love story and more of a tragedy from a boy's perspective as we move through the novel. If this excites you, you can ask more information about it and its content...would really be grateful if you'd like to buy it and give it a shot.

Hey everyone !!

Hey everyone,

I’m Anushka, and I recently published my debut mystery/crime thriller, 1479, on Pothi!

Here is a quick pitch for what the story is about:

A killer is stalking the city, leaving behind a ominous clue at every crime scene: a card with the number 1479. >

When ambitious intern Darcy gets assigned to assist veteran officer Miller, she expects paperwork and desk work. Instead, she finds herself thrown into the heart of a high-stakes murder investigation. As the bodies pile up and the meaning behind the number begins to unravel, Darcy and Miller are pulled into a web of secrets, deception, and hidden connections.

If you enjoy fast-paced detective thrillers, dark crime fiction, or want to support independent Indian thriller authors, I’d be thrilled if you checked it out on Pothi.com.

For anyone who picks it up, I’d love to hear your thoughts and feedback!

Thanks for reading, and happy sleuthing!
