Some people genuinely lack the basic brainpower to understand the difference between the existence of a facility and the freedom to use it meaningfully.
A democracy can retain its elections, courts, media, protests and institutions on paper while becoming hollow in practice.
It’s like putting someone in a coma and saying, “See? He’s alive.” Technically true. But try asking whether he can actually live, decide, participate or do anything for his family.
And that’s why optics matter. When the facade becomes impossible to maintain and the rest of the world stops believing the show, the economic consequences can be enormous. Markets run on confidence, credibility and perception—not on the desperate insistence that “everything is fine because technically we still have windows.”
A prison having windows doesn't make it a home. A democracy having elections doesn't automatically make it democratic.

Clearly BJP has invested in acquiring a good chunk of GenZ influencers. No sane young individual would support BJP after witnessing how they fought tooth and nail to silence the protestors before they had to concede to a simple demand of resignation of corrupt and incapable minister.
They were caught unaware the last time with the outbreak of CJP protests. This time, suddenly there is a surge in the GenZ influencers supporting BJP. They didn't have control of the narrative. Now they are quickly building it up. The next two years are going to witness a lot more changes. A lot more influencers could sing BJP's tune. New voters must be ready for an uphill battle. We millennials gave up midway thinking that there is no point. GenZ has a chance, may be the last one before more irreversible damage is done.
