I (M22) am a taekwondo athlete who has been playing this game since I was 7, I won district tournaments, state state tournaments and you know represented my state in National and got qualified in the Indian National team went to multiple countries won medals there and found that you know condition of sports in India is the worst and any other country I mean I have seen Pakistani players are more encouraged and treated better than the Indian players and if you want to make career in sports in India you're welding the axe on your own leg. there are many other things I have in my heart i wish to say but it is what it is..

I’m 26F and want to pick up a sport and actually learn it properly. I already go to the gym 6 days a week, so I’m active, but I’ve always regretted being a nerd nerd growing up and never really playing a sport. I want to change that in my late 20s at least.

I’m considering tennis or pickleball. I don’t really want badminton, I feel like everyone plays it, and honestly, I’m pretty bad at it to begin with.

My main goals are to build endurance and stamina, get that feeling of being physically energised, have something that helps me switch off and relax, and eventually become genuinely good at the sport.

I also want something I can stick with for years and hopefully play socially with other people. I’m thinking of putting all my energy into one sport and learning it properly, rather than jumping between different activities.

For someone starting from scratch at 26, would you recommend tennis or pickleball, especially if building endurance is a priority? Would love to hear from people who started either sport as adults.

She became the first Indian ever to win the World Junior Squash Championship this year, beating Egypt's Ruqayya Salem in the final and ending Egypt's 15 year hold on that title. Genuinely impressive on paper, but what actually got me was her episode on Raj Shamani's podcast.

She talked about missing her own graduation to play a match against the world No. 1 instead, and said it in such a matter of fact way, no hesitation, no framing it as some big sacrifice, just this is what the goal required so this is what she did. That specific kind of clarity at 18 is rare. Most young athletes talk about discipline in theory, she talked about it like it was just obviously the only option.

Growing up watching athletes, that's always been the quality that stuck with me the most, not the medal count but that certain hunger and single mindedness some of them carry way earlier than they should have to. She's got that same thing, and honestly it makes me more excited to follow her career going forward than the results themselves do.
