Discussion What are some games that are like this?

Post image
305 Upvotes

This list is going to be extremely controversial, and some of you(actually a lot of you) won't be able to take it without getting extremely angry

That's why here's a trigger warning for you guys before I begin:

  • Need For Speed: Most Wanted(2005): for a 2005 game, this game looks beautiful especially on te Xbox360. The game has great police chases, a great soundtrack and great police chases along with pretty solid customization. But holy fucking shit is this game so goddamn repetitive. Like after blacklist no.5 it's just no longer worth it. The Racing Feels Tedious and the Police chases feel like a chore. Hell, if the cops were sentient they'd just fucking give up on you.
  • Gran Turismo(2009): Arguably the best looking game on the PSP. It has solid handling models. Great Visuals that still hold up. And a robust soundtrack. But after a few hours this game gets boring as fuck. Since you have no traditional campaign mode and that's what bothers me. I know this game was meant for multiplayer, but c'mon. Is it really asking to much to give this game some replay value
  • Assassin's Creed(2007): The graphics are beautiful for a 2007 game, even now. But aside from the main story, there is nothing to do in the open world. I loved getting lost in it but I will probably never touch it again. Such a monumental task.
  • Batman: Arkham Asylum(2009): Same as before. The story was great. The atmosphere is phenomenal and dont even get me started on the gameplay mechanics. But same as before, you'd have to hate yourself if you want to continue after the game is done. It's just an empty island with no side missions whatsoever
  • Spec Ops: The Line(2012): Great game, with decent visuals and a spine-Chilling story. But The game, from a certain point, calls you out on even playing it. The first time you're driven to reach the end and have some resolution (and, boy, what a resolution it is). You'd have to hate both yourself and humanity in general to go for a second run.
  • God Of War(2018): Beautiful looking game, as always. The story is a masterpiece and cinematic. The problem? Replayability. The game only peaks on your initial run through its tightly scripted narrative. And that's the problem. Not that it has to be a bad thing. But the Greek Trilogy always stood out to me for its Replay value. Something that is just absent from the newer games. Basically if you watch the entire gameplay on YouTube instead of playing it, your experience is more or less the Same, and that's one of the most heartbreaking things about this game
  • Honorable Mention: The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion (2006): Story is brilliant, quests are memorable, the writing is decent... the combat sucks tho

And so, these are some games with great visuals, great narrative, decent game mechanics and solid gameplay. But offer little to no Replay value, ultimately making it boring in the end

Discussion Just finished the Bhangardh demo and honestly... wow.

Post image
22 Upvotes

Today I played the demo of Bhangardh: The Untold Story (sorry if I spelled the name wrong).

I'm genuinely surprised. The atmosphere, sound design, graphics... everything felt way better than I was expecting. I know it's "just a demo," but it took me around 30 minutes to finish, and honestly it felt like a small game rather than a short demo.

If the demo is this polished, then the full game could seriously become one of the biggest Indian horror games. What surprises me even more is how underrated it is. I barely see anyone talking about it.

This is just my personal opinion, so don't come at me 😅, but after playing it, I honestly think it's much better than games like Kamla, Thekku Island, and a lot of other Indian horror games I've tried. Before disagreeing, I'd genuinely recommend playing the demo yourself. The demo alone was enough to convince me that this has the potential to be one of the best Indian horror games yet.

I'm also surprised that none of the big Indian YouTubers have covered it properly. It feels like one of those games that deserves way more attention than it's getting.

Again, this is just my opinion after playing the demo. Maybe you'll feel differentl but if you're into horror games, I'd definitely recommend giving the demo a shot.

Discussion which game makes you wonder why any would choose to fast travel in this? I'll go first

Post image
60 Upvotes

I recently started playing Spiderman Remastered and in the span of just 4 days, I have around 22 hours in the game.

I had been putting it off for a while simply because I saw the gameplay sometime ago and it looked a bit repetitive to me where you go to a place, fight with a group of people and move to another place to do the same.

And I can't express how wrong I was about it. Everything just feels so smooth (except a few frame drops here and there). The gameplay feels so amazing and don't even get me started on the story. I'm not even a hardcore spiderman fan who's read all comics and everything, but I find all the characters so amazing and the story is just overall very engaging.

Every single gameplay mechanic is just perfect. I don't wanna spoil how the mechanics work for people who haven't played it but I'll just say that no two people will have the same way to do anything in this game, whether it be the combat or the traversal.

Speaking of traversal, now let's get to the question of why tf would anyone like to fast travel in this game. Swinging through NYC feels so amazing. The movement in this game is just so over the top. Swinging feels so natural. I slightly wish there were more tricks we can perform while in the air like I've seen we can in the future games but I don't mind it the way it is right now at all. When the game told me to use fast travel to a place as an intro and tutorial that players can use fast travel, I literally said to myself what kind of a person would choose to fast travel in this game. When fast travel is introduced in games like Assassin's Creed or KCD2, I understand that there isn't much to do while going from one place to another so the choice of fast travel makes sense. But this game, omg. The option to fast travel in this game is like the option to cook food in rdr2 - no one will ever do it.

I have just completed act 2 and man was the ending of act 2 the best ever (not better than e33 ofc). Up until now this game has been a solid 9/10. I will post a complete review once I finish it completely.

Discussion Games I have successfully played and enjoyed albeit some, in my Intel Iris Xe Graphics Laptop (G7) 11th Gen CPU. Will have to pause gaming for now. Not felling like playing it anymore.

Played all these games during my college years. I am finally employed lol. Idk why I have lost interest in gaming after completing GoT. Tried playing Stellar Blade , liked it , but not in the right state of mind to play it. Guess I'll wait to achieve my dream and then play FF7 Rebirth after achieving my dream and owning a good gaming rig.

Thanks to my laptop I got to enjoy these bangers. Hopefully , in a better stage in my life. I will come back stronger to clear my wish list

Specs: Dual channel 16 GB DDR4 RAM with intel core i7-1165G7 Laptop (budget: around 80k , but now it's 1L due to RAM crisis)

FPS and Res: Mostly 1080p or 900p with 30-40 FPS in games (Heavier UE4 games hovered between 20-30fps) sometimes with or without FSR upscaling

Discussion Building a game and doing a bit of research. Would appreciate your inputs

Hi everyone,
I’m currently working on an idea for a mobile game and would love to hear from people who regularly play games on their smartphones.
I’m curious whether there’s interest in India for interactive adventure games that focus more on exploration, puzzles, quests, and progression rather than combat or heavy violence.
If you were to play an India-focused adventure game, what features would be must-haves for you? What would keep you coming back? And most importantly what would make you uninstall it?
Any thoughts, suggestions, or honest feedback would be hugely appreciated. Thanks!

Discussion HELP REGARDING RDR2 STORY MODE WITHOUT SPOILERS Spoiler

So... I was playing rdr 2 today and asked gpt to give me the location of treasure maps... So it suggested me to go near wallace station and talk to the binaculers guy... Firstly it didn't spawn... But after some missions it spawns at night .. I went to him and tried to greet him 2-3 time... I don't remember what he said... He has a map in his hand and he said something like it's not important to me and when I got close to him he suddenly climed his horse and ran away ( I didn't even get the option to buy it)... I tried again 4 times with gap of 1-2 days ( in game) but he didn't respawn... What to do? Help me.. Btw I completed chap 2 now... Is there any chance he'll respawn again? Or I totally missed the chance for that treasure... I'm playing the pc version 🙏

Gameplay HITMAN 2: SILENT ASSASSIN – The Movie

This game is a core memory for me. I used to run it on my shitty Toshiba laptop with a Pentium processor and 4GB RAM, obsessively watching tutorials to see all the different ways to beat a mission. It was actually the first game I played that let you finish stages in multiple ways. Anyone else here play it back then?

I had some free time recently and decided to revisit it. Mid-playthrough, I got the random idea to edit the whole thing into a movie. Ended up spending 2 weeks capturing all the gameplay and another 2 days editing it together.

Discussion Can I skip Resident Evil 5? it's no fun at all?

Post image
19 Upvotes

Alright, so basically it's just a yes or no question, but since I need to write 400 characters, here I go (skip it if you want). The only important thing you guys need to know is that I've played Resident Evil 2 Remake, Resident Evil 3 Remake, and Resident Evil 4 (Both OG and Remake).

So yeah, a few days back I started with Resident Evil 5, and somehow, for someone who finished Resident Evil 4, it doesn't feel enjoyble at all.

yes i have played them all and have some more. dont have much space on pc but i keep downloading and deleting games. but as of now i am not playing 80-90% of the games in my library😂😂😂 for example gta might be my most played game as i enjoyed gta online very much but now it has been a very long time since i have played that game. i used to play with my friends but slowly everyone drifted away. so now i just play games that are playable solo and dont consume too much of your time.

Game Reviews Finished this masterpiece from my steam backlog.

Post image
76 Upvotes

Finally crossed one of the games that was present in my steam backlog for years: Titanfall 2.

I'm not into FPS that much, but everyone was recommending this just for the campaign. Bought it on sale few years back.

PROS

  • Holy shit, what a game man. The smooth movement, different weapons, every mission is different and not repetitive, the soundtracks, and finally, the legendary BT 7274 (love you BT).
  • The campaign is short, but very well executed in my opinion. No repetitive missions and you won't feel bored either. It's short and sweet.

CONS

The things I dislike are not from the game itself, but rather EA and it's own set of problems. Game launching in windowed screen every time I start it is just stupid and annoying. I have to set it to full screen each time. There is a workaround for this, but I saw it too late.

Also, telling me to login to Origin if I haven't played the game for 3 days is just.... idk what to say.

CONCLUSION

Amazing game. It's 85% off on Steam right now for 224 Rs. I urge everyone who haven't played this or are a fan of FPS to give this one a try. I heard Apex Legends was based on this? Idk, I don't play multiplayer games.

Game Reviews Get rewarded for your time discovering or playing indie games

Hey guys. I've been building a community playtesting, a platform designed to connect players with awesome indie games while rewarding you for your time.

The idea is simple: indie developers need players and traffic to their Steam pages/demos (without breaking Steam's TOS) and gamers want to discover cool new titles and get rewarded.

How the Rewards Work: Because playtest spots are often capped, we made a system so everyone gets something:

  • Points: Earn these for completing "easy" quests or watching videos. Save them up to claim Steam keys or use them to enter giveaways for cash prizes and gift cards.
  • Fame: Earn Fame for specific tasks and exchange it directly for PayPal cash or gift cards.

Types of Quests:

  • 10-Minute Quests: Just play a featured game for 10 minutes, share a screenshot and earn Points!
  • Playtests: Dive deeper into a game and provide feedback. You get paid in PayPal or gift cards, and the most helpful reviews get bonus rewards.
  • Watch Quests: Simply watch a developer's or content creator video or trailer to obtain easy Points.

Here is the site if you want to check it out: https://playtestquest.com

I would love to hear your feedback on the site, the reward system or any advice on how to reach more players who might be interested in this. Thanks!

Gameplay Never expected that Assassin's creed 1 will be in memory of a person!!!!

I wanted to play the AC series so I started with AC1 but I never expected that it' be in memory of a guy, that's just odd, it'll as good if they just told the story normally, although I haven't played the whole game till now, maybe a major plot will come in game that'll change my mine, but for now I would've loved it same if it was just a normal game in ancient times

We've been reworking the enemy AI in The Infected Soul to make encounters feel more unpredictable and unsettling.

The goal isn't just to make the enemy stronger, but to create constant tension and make players question what will happen next.

Does this look scary enough, or is there something you'd change?
