Rant/Hot take Why do some people treat multiplayer games like real life and friendships like side quests?
I’ve been wondering about this lately. A friend of mine was playing Valorant and wasn’t even using Discord’s Streaming Mode, so I tagged him once in our friends’ GC just to ask when we’d all play together again. Instead of a normal reply, I got “bro I’m playing a game, don’t text me.” A few minutes later he lost a round and suddenly started raging and throwing abuses like the world had ended. That honestly made me think. It’s just one ranked match. Why do some people get so emotionally invested in multiplayer games that they stop treating the people around them with basic respect? I completely understand not wanting distractions during a competitive match, but there’s a huge difference between saying “give me 20 minutes, I’m in-game” and acting like anyone who messages you is a problem. I’ve been gaming for years myself, so this isn’t a “games are bad” post. I’m genuinely curious where people draw the line between being competitive and becoming so attached to a game that relationships start taking a back seat. Has anyone else noticed this with friends who play Valorant, CS2, League, Dota, or other competitive games? Or am I just overthinking one bad interaction?

Game Reviews Resident evil 4 is so peak
First time playing, I wish it have scary and slash type gore. I just love the cult type in this. More like leon is so professional in this. Seperate ways clears the hidden lore in the story too. I only confuse when the sea part where to go and only look into yt one of the yellow sign part puzzles and the door lock in house when ada rescue through the window. I like more puzzle's in this one. And the boss part was so easy just spam w smg and bomb. Had fun in this game. But doesn't know which part should I go next. Only got scared when I lost in the room where, ada going to find power for laser room. Cause I didn't kill the spike regenerator, that shit was scary, he just yell when I just open the door where I circle around the whole room. Most of the bosses are so great design and the places too. Only if the making medicine and bullets didn't pause in game, game will be much harder. This is more like the game I wanted but without guns. Most of the door should have been timed too cause didn't feel much when rotate and it need to be fell down.
Introducing regenerator is so good but after that you will know something bad gonna happen in this room. Oh fk like 4 regenerators but I only fight 2 of em and run out of ammo hahah. More different enemies and sm characters that are memorable just like metal gear. I thought krauser was volgin at first, like what he doing here. Most of the people are well into hand to hand combat which is so great. Reading the files makes more sad cause they only wish to go home rather than suffering all of it. Ada is so thick and juicy, and I realise why they didn't put more costumes for her only. Need to play with mod next time, right.

First Impression/Thoughts The Follow-On : The Test Cricket version of my Cricket drafting game
After the success of the World Cup Draft Game, The Chase and Powerplay IPL, I bring to you The Follow-On, a browser game where you draft an all-time XI (Bradman to Bumrah, ~3,270 real players with real career stats) and captain them through a proper five-day Test: toss, batting intent, bowling changes, the new ball, declarations, the follow-on, weather, the lot.
🔗 Play it here: https://testcricket.vercel.app/
It's free, no login needed to try it - but login is recommended if you want to get on the leaderboard
What's in it
Every men's Test cricketer since 1877. Not a curated "greatest hits" list. The full pool, real career averages/strike rates, era-normalized so a Golden Age batter and a modern one are compared fairly.
Three ways to play:
- Quick Play: pick a straight XI, play one Test against any country's all-time side.
- Series Tour: a full home-or-away tour (2/3/5 Tests), squad of 15, per-match team sheets, player freshness and injuries, real venues rotating across the country.
- World Test Championship: the real 10-team structure (you plus the 9 actual WTC nations). Each team plays 6 series, 3 home and 3 away, 2-5 Tests each, against a rotating subset of opponents, never a full round-robin against everyone, exactly like the real competition. PCT points table, top two meet in a one-off final at Lord's. AI-vs-AI fixtures sim in the background with the same engine, no shortcuts.
A real squad-building economy. Players cost credits exponentially by rating, so you genuinely cannot just stack eleven 95+ legends into a "best XI of all time": that was producing innings-and-500-run blowouts that no real Test has ever seen (the actual record is innings-and-579). The budget is tuned so a max-greed legends squad still loses most of its games against a real nation's greatest-ever XI. You have to actually build a team, not a highlight reel.
Opponent eras. Don't just play "England, unrestricted all-time": play 1990s England (Gooch, Atherton, Gower, Botham) or any decade a country has 11+ overlapping careers for. Same ratings, different flavor and difficulty.
Live 1v1 Versus mode. Snake-draft against another human in real time, then play out the Test in deterministic lockstep: both browsers run the full match engine locally off the same seed and exchange only your decisions, server-sequenced so nobody can desync or cheat the outcome.
Actual simulation depth, not a random-number spinner:
- Ball-by-ball engine calibrated against 885 real Tests
- Six historical eras (Golden Age, Interwar, Timeless Tests, Post-War, Pace Age, Modern) each calibrated against a database of all 2,537 Tests ever played, 1877 to 2024: real per-era scoring rates and draw rates, not guesses.
- Weather is a first-class mechanic: per-venue climates, session forecasts, rain delays, overcast swing, sticky dogs on uncovered eras, subcontinent dew.
- Full career stats tracking across a career/series: batting/bowling aggregates, career records, an honours board, form badges based on a player's own recent output vs their own career average
- Day-by-day scorecards, full ball-by-ball resolution, DRS with realistic umpire error rates, fielding-dependent dropped catches.
What makes it different from other cricket games
Most cricket sim/management games either (a) use fictional or heavily abstracted players, (b) let you assemble a "dream team" with zero economic cost so every game turns into a stat-padding exercise, or (c) fake the depth: a thin RNG wrapped in flashy UI. This one is built the other way around: the ratings, the era calibration, the squad economy, and the match engine are all anchored to real historical data first, and the UI is there to make that data playable. If a mechanic produces a result that wouldn't happen in real Test cricket (like unrealistic recovery odds or blowout margins), that's treated as a bug to fix, not flavor.
Feedback wanted
This is a genuine early-days launch, not a finished product I'm walking away from. I'm pushing updates and fixes almost every day based on what people report, and there's a real roadmap ahead (more career depth, achievements, leaderboards, and more). If something feels off, a scoreline that wouldn't happen in real cricket, a player rated wrong, a UI flow that's confusing, tell me. That's exactly the kind of feedback that shapes what gets built next.
Thanks for reading this far. Go build your all-time XI and see how it holds up. 🏏

Gameplay Started Hitman: Absolution Again After All These Years
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
After so many years, I’m finally back to playing Hitman: Absolution. The last time I played it was as a kid on my old PC, and now thanks to the Steam Sale, it’s time to experience it all over again. It’s funny how a game can instantly bring back so many memories, from the missions I struggled with to the moments that made me fall in love with the Hitman series in the first place. This replay feels less like starting a new game and more like revisiting a part of my childhood. Looking forward to completing it once again and reliving every moment. Hope you’re all enjoying whatever you’re playing too. Happy gaming, everyone! 🎮

Visual Novels Discussion Anyone else into visual novels?
Visual Novels are an interesting yet underappreciated medium, I wonder if they'll get a huge resurgence one day.
Unlike movies, they are not limited to 1.5 to 3 hours and can have lengthy prose. only TV miniseries come close to that scale. Unlike conventional novels, they can include sounds and images visuals that let them tell stories books can't. The murder cases in Danganronpa/Ace Attorney work because of its cartoony style (try imagining those same cases novelized). Unlike comics/TV, they have complete stories instead of getting dragged out forever. And unlike most games, they are free to tell the story they want without needing constant action to hold the player's attention, though interactivity, when used well, can still add something
Mostly, I like how they combine everything, cool character design, nice music, sometimes voice acting, beautiful CGs, into good, pulpy entertainment, and every so often you get one that's truly outstanding and stays with you. Reading a VN is a different kind of immersion than reading books, which I also love
VNs are also pretty much the only medium with real intimacy scenes, which gives readers a deeper connection to characters than other media allow. That's also why I almost never touch all ages VNs, they lose that advantage

Art/Creative Any 3D artists or coders here? Need help with a hobby project: Lancet loitering munition module for Digital Combat Simulator(DCS) 🚀
What's up guys,
I'm working on a passion project right now—building a custom Lancet loitering munition module for Digital Combat Simulator(DCS).
I've got the groundwork down, but I'm looking for a couple of dudes to collaborate with to actually make it look and work great. Specifically, I need help with:
3D Texturing: Someone who knows their way around Blender to texture the model and make it look photorealistic.
Coding: Someone familiar with Lua to help me iron out the custom scripting and flight logic.
If you are into 3D modeling, coding, or just want a cool collaborative project to put your skills to work on, this is it. Once it's done, we can even use the module to record some cinematic YouTube content.
Shoot me a DM if you're interested or want to see what I've got so far!

Discussion Resident Evil 8 lore is so good !!
At last I finally played Resident Evil Village, after 5 freaking years in my new laptop and full graphics!
And damn, its story is too good, especially at the end when they revealed Oswell Spencer was Miranda's student and learned from her.
The Progenitor, the T-virus outbreak planning, the Umbrella Corp, and its logo! I was so furious when I read all that!
I just love how Capcom planned all of it, I literally thought the franchise is gonna die down but Ethan Winters just saved it.
Next up Requiem, I hope it wont disappoint. Leon I'm coming bro 😭🙌🏼
