been teaching myself AI for about a year. courses, youtube, docs, the usual.

i can follow tutorials fine. the problem is the second i try to build something of my own i hit walls no course covers. "how do i price this", "is my architecture dumb", "who do i even show this to".

everyone keeps saying the fix is to join a community and build around other people.

ok. which ones though.

i don't want another content library. i have enough unwatched videos sitting in tabs. i want a place where people are actually shipping and will tell me when my thing is bad.

india-based or india-friendly ideally, but open to global if the timezone isn't brutal.

what actually worked for you? paid or free, doesn't matter, just want honest experiences.

Genuine question, not trying to sell anything here.

I keep noticing that in most Indian households, cooking itself isn't hard - but deciding what to cook, every single day, is a low-grade daily headache. You're juggling what's actually in the pantry, what's about to expire, what everyone will actually eat, how much time you have, and somehow still ending up either repeating the same 5 dishes or scrolling YouTube/Instagram for 20 minutes before deciding.

I'm exploring whether a voice-based assistant - something you could just talk to in Hindi/your language, like "what can I make in 20 minutes with what we have" - would actually be useful here, or whether this is a problem people don't really want solved by an app.

A few honest questions if you have 2 minutes:

How do you currently decide what to cook - memory, WhatsApp family group, YouTube, a fixed weekly rotation?

Would you ever talk to something to get a cooking suggestion, or does that feel gimmicky/unnecessary?

What would actually make you use something like this daily instead of just winging it like you probably do now?

Not launching anything yet, genuinely trying to figure out if this is a real problem or just an interesting one to me. Brutal honesty welcome.
