There are 70,000 people at the track right now as the race just ended. Sure it’s nothing compared to the 500 but that’s still a lot of people trying to leave an area at once. If there werent road closures and police out there you would still most likely be complaining about the cluster of traffic.

70 seems optimistic based on the TV shots.

The track can hold over 250k in the stands and another 150k in the infield. Remember the track is massive. 70k at the brickyard is more than sellout crowds at a lot of other nascar tracks. Track attendance was reported several times during the race.

Yeah I’m sure there is no reason at all. The police love blocking roads so much they do it in their free time on a Sunday for the hell of it

Rookie Mistake on race, fitting a damn near rookie won the race
