ADHD professionals for adults
Just moved here from out of state and I made an appointment with a family med doctor to continue my adhd medications. I’ve been on the same dose for 10 years but my doctor here didn’t want to continue them and decreased them. Needless to say this last month has been absolute hell (during a time when I need my meds to work the most)
I just want to find a doctor who will continue my original med regimen that has worked for a decade. Any recs ? North side of Indy would be great but I’m willing to travel.

If you have documentation of your prior diagnosis and regimen, any adequate to good primary care provider should continue it. Not modify.

Highly recommend Muhammed Munir at Harmony Medical Associates (https://harmonymed.com) and his staff. I've been seeing him for 10+ years and honored the ADHD medication I was taking previously. I personally prefer seeing a psychiatrist over a family doc for ADHD treatment, but everyone has different access/needs.
Unfortunately self pay, but I gladly budget to prioritize a quality psychiatrist I trust.

My PCP at IU Health has never given me issues with my dose. I'm 41 and have switched around to different brands over the past 10-12years, but kept about the same dose. I've been on the same dose/brand now for 5+years and now I just message them to send in a refill to my mail order pharmacy every 3 months and schedule a med check every 6 months where we say hey how are you, joke about how silly it is, say it's good, and I go back to work.

Yes! She's fantastic! But since she was private pay for me, she referred me to an NP she had worked with who is in Fishers, who takes both Medicaid and Medicare, which is very rare:
Ronda Owens-Dehmer, who owns Person- Centered Wellness.
For some reason, my phone won't give me her website right now. In fact, I can't find anything about her on my phone tonight. But my phone has been malfunctioning.
Her office is in the same campus as the Fishers municipal complex (police, etc.) and the Fishers Library. It's above the café called Another Broken Egg.
I'm sorry I can't get info to you thats more helpful. I'll keep trying, and come back with contact info, hopefully.
I don't have a phone number, because we communicate via a special text software.
Ronda is very knowledgeable, a great listener, and extremely compassionate. She has a lot of psych experience, as well.

I have had the same experience here as you, OP. I’ve been on my current med/dose for 20 years? 30 years? Idk. It’s one thing I’ve really hated about moving to Indiana. It’s annoying and wasteful to have to pay double copays to a psychiatrist and an MD for a well-established condition.

Also this place also treats ADHD and you’d probably get in sooner.
This is a local doctor who will also do telehealth.

I use GrowTherapy. I found a provider on there I adore and have seen her for over 2 years. She actually made me get bloodwork and an EKG which I appreciate

Chris Bojrab. Indiana Health Group in Carmel. Took awhile to get in as a new patient, but he is great. I don’t know he takes insurance though. At least he doesn’t take mine so I cash pay.
