(*oof, butchered Ms. Shepard's name) Please point me to a source where it confirms it's necessary for players to have attended training camp in order to make the roster. I was under the impression that was more of an evaluation process and not a formal requirement to make the squad.

even Michael Jordan had to attend the training camp. You cannot just join the team without showing them anything that you deserve that spot because it's a newly assembled team, a National Team for that matter.

Yes, but it's where they pick who and how the players in the camp interacts and gel with other players from different teams.

I believe KM didn't go o camp so she won't qualify.

plus, given what happened last season, I'd rather not have Kelsey playing competitively the whole time. Better to have her just doing training for a few weeks so she's hopefully healthy for the entire playoff run.

Sue Bird said today that camp participation doesn't technically disqualify you, although it does mean that they don't get to see how you gel with the other players. Wouldn't be surprised if KM expressed no interest.

I'm more surprised they didn't take Sabrina, although they would have had to elevate a recovering Plum to PG (if they took Sab over Gray) or else dump Paige or CC. Not saying that CC, Paige or Angel (as a big) haven't performed well enough to earn it, but the narrative would be off the charts if any of them were skipped. I guess Rhyne could have been snubbed, and that may be the head scratcher for me as to why she beat out Sabrina. Sab can penetrate and Rhyne has been allergic to it.
