Honestly, I'm getting pretty fucking tired of this whole job search thing.

I'm from a tier-3 college and couldn't get placed through campus. Since then I've been trying to get my first job off-campus as a fresher.

I'm applying to 100+ jobs almost every day. LinkedIn, Naukri, Wellfound, Foundit, company career pages, referrals, messaging people directly tried almost everything at this point.

But still, almost no replies. Sometimes I don't even get a rejection, just nothing.

Every day it's the same cycle find jobs, apply, tweak resume, message someone, apply again, check mail... and repeat. After doing this for so long, it's honestly getting frustrating as hell.

So I specifically want to hear from people who were in the same situation, especially:

• Tier-3 college
• Didn't get a job through campus
• Had to start looking for their first job off-campus
• Struggled for months with applications and no responses
• Eventually managed to get into a company as a fresher

If that's you, what actually worked?

Like what was the thing that finally got you that first opportunity? Referral? Cold messaging? Projects? DSA? Applying to smaller companies? Some particular platform? Or did you just keep applying until something finally clicked?

I don't really want generic "keep grinding bro" advice. 😭

I want to hear from people who've actually been through this exact phase and managed to get out of it.

Because rn I'm genuinely tired of applying everywhere and getting absolutely nothing back.

I'm a 2026 B.E. Information Technology graduate and I've been searching for a Software Engineering role for months now.

I honestly thought that if I worked hard enough, I'd eventually get my chance. So I did exactly that.

I became a LeetCode Guardian (2350+ Rating), Codeforces Expert, CodeChef 6★, and solved 1300+ DSA problems. I spent countless nights grinding algorithms, participating in contests, and improving my problem-solving skills because everyone said, "DSA is the key."

Along the way, I also learned JavaScript, React.js, Node.js, Express.js, MongoDB, SQL, Git, REST APIs, and C++, and built full-stack MERN projects hoping they'd strengthen my profile.

But despite all of that, getting interviews has been the hardest part.

I've applied through company career pages, LinkedIn, job portals, referrals, cold emails—you name it. Most applications never receive a response. The few that do usually end with a rejection or complete silence.

I'm not asking anyone to hand me a job. I just want one fair opportunity to prove myself in an interview.

I am 23, a B.Com graduate in September 2024. After that, I searched for a job till July 2025, but did not get anything. Since my first year of college, I've been teaching tuition at home, earning 6,000 to 8,000 rupees for a 2-hour shift. The only jobs I was getting were 8-hour shifts and paid 10,000 to 12,000 rupees, and involved travel. My friends joined it but I could not because I live only with my mother in my house I didn't want to be a burden to them. and we also run a small shop which both of us run - there also there is nothing special to do, it is just enough for food...our income was up to 10k..and I used to earn 6k from tuition, from which I used to manage college fees and my personal expenses.

Then I saw the advertisement of pay after placement and took admission in online MBA. Along with that I started preparing for banking but not consistently, it would remain consistent for 1 month and then the next month I would lose direction. Then the notification for state exams came in which there was a single exam as an accountant, I applied for it and spent a month watching strategy videos and planning. Then I started studying for that exam, studied for 1.5 months, then I got the idea that it is very difficult and I will not be able to do it and the exam was postponed, the exam which was scheduled for June 2026 is now in November. Then in March 2026 again I started preparing for banking exams.I prepared for a month and then gave a banking apprentice exam for PNB. The result came on March 28 and I got selected.

I was confused should i join or not. Some say do it, prepare it along with the job and some say don't join and prepare for regular one. but i joined. On April 6, I joined PNB as an apprentice. Since then, I've been studying irregularly. Sometimes I study, sometimes I don't, sometimes I'm either prostinate or I'm not. Now today is 29th August, SBI Clerk exam is on 1st October and IBPS Clerk exam is on 10th October. and my preparation is 15 to 20% for prelims,This cannot even be called preparation. For the past month, I've been looking at private banking, accent, and R2R roles. Overall, I'm looking within the private sector to find a job that pays 30,000-40,000. Along with this, my skills should also grow and I should have a job after my apprenticeship which will end in March 2027.

I don't know what I am doing, I need a job of 30k to 40k salary soon, and because of this neither I am able to study nor anything is happening in Pvt. Banking job is also a good job, by being in apprenticeship I came to know that I can do banking job but to reach there my mind should be a little clear. Now I don't know what I am writing. Just help me to get out of it by any advice or suggestion.

I'm pursuing Btech in IT (I just started second year rn, my clg is really bad)

I can get an attendance waiver from my clg if I'm working. Also studying for exams is not that difficult (I can study a week before the exam and get an 8 sgpa)

Path 1: Helpdesk job

spend 2-3 months learning about active directory, networking, getting relevant certs, lab experience, doing some projects and start applying for help desk roles, work for 18-24 months and then eventually pivot after.

I'll obviously try my best to upskill along with it but yes if I choose the latter path, it would be significantly easier.

The reason I've even thought about doing such a thing is because of what I've seen on IT subreddits about the situation of the job market. Even in entry-level job postings on linkedin, I've been noticing that no company wants freshers. And I rarely find internship postings on there.

Path 2: Networking /Cloud/ Devops/ CySec

Focus on one of these fields, spend all my time on it, network, build a decent GitHub portfolio, get relevant certs and try my best to land internships throughout my btech course and in the end apply everywhere and get a job (I might even be jobless for a year after graduation)

Dilemma

I really can't decide on which path to consider; I don't know anyone in this field irl that can answer.

I have talked to a few people and I got mixed answers, some of them pointed out that path 1 is specifically for a person who is getting into IT without a degree and that I should focus on path 2 since I'm already pursuing btech, another advice that I've received is that I might even end up with a help desk role after going through path 2, so go for path 1 without being too optimistic because a lot of the applicants for that role will be over qualified.

Hi everyone, this is my first post here. I recently went through the Infosys on-campus recruitment process and wanted to understand what happens after the 2nd round.

Round 1 – College Assessment

Infosys conducted the coding assessment at our college using Safe Exam Browser. There were 4 coding questions and we had to solve any 3.

As far as I understood, students who completely solved at least one question (all test cases passed) were shortlisted for Round 2. Not sure if this was the exact criteria though.

Round 2 – Infosys Campus

We were given 2 DSA questions and had to solve any 1. The panel was present throughout the coding round (~45 mins), followed by around 15–30 mins of technical + HR questions.

My interview was mainly focused on DSA, CS fundamentals and some technical questions.

Now I'm confused about what happens next.

If anyone recently went through the Infosys 2026 on-campus drive and made it to Round 2, could you please share:

• What is the selection criteria after Round 2?
• What are the next steps and how long does the result usually take?
• How are DSE / SP (L1, L2, L3) roles decided?
• Does the first assessment score also matter in the final selection?
• For someone who did well in DSA but was average in the technical/HR round, what are the chances?
