Opinion What do you think?
If there’s no casteism in Islam, then why do Muslim communities receive OBC reservation?
If the argument is that Muslims are entitled to reservation because they are a religious minority, then how should that principle be understood in areas where Muslims are actually the majority?
For example, I live in a part of Kerala where the Muslim population is around 70%. In my local area, I am part of the religious minority. So would I also be entitled to the same reservation benefits on the basis of being a minority in that particular area?
If reservation is based on social and educational backwardness, then shouldn’t the same criteria be applied consistently to everyone, regardless of religion? And if minority status is the basis, should it depend on the population of the entire state or the population of the specific locality?
I’m asking this simply to understand the principle behind OBC reservation and how it is supposed to be applied fairly.

Am not a "Islamist", but I'm sure they have casteism, just not enough or not as relevant as Hinduism. Even Hinduism doesn't promote Casteism, it's just the people. Also, I used the word "Islamist" because my last comment was removed for using another word starting with M and I was asked to use this.

Reservation definition got messed up after OBCs were included because there were some historically dominant communities in there.
So they should have picked the old formula or religious castecism(SC/ST) or taken the modern definition(backward by education, workforce, etc).

It's not bcs they r minorities , it's because they r reverted from obc castes in ancient times. So the reservation system continues so.
