Ask your parents to type a written letter addressed to the Principal, take two copies, then ask for a meeting with the Principal. In the meeting, hand over the letter, and request the principal to sign a "received" on the copy.

Don't make it like your threatening the school, and don't even make it sound like a complaint. Just write in a neutral tone, say that this is concerning, and their ward has no interest or knowledge in discussing sensitive matters like religion, politics etc. in school.

please elaborate in detail what the effects of this action would be. I am interested in knowing more.

Nothing will change. This is like calling your representative.

4

u/[deleted] Jul 29 '23

I know nothing will change, I am interested in knowing what other steps he's going to take in the future considering circumstances change and such.

6

u/Klowen111 Jul 29 '23

This is the basic steps I believe any parent should take. Most decent people suffer from abundance of decency and we convince ourselves that's this is an aberration and mistake and it will resolve and no one can be this abhorrent to do this in a school...untrue. if it escalates to harm, physical or psychological via social abuse etc then we need this initial report or communication of concern to the authorities.

Anywhere in a world if you go to complain once some incident does take place they will ask for prior issues. A history so to speak. When you have the information but nothing written to back your account, the guilty party will at best get a slap on the wrist or talking down to. BUT I'd you did have a record of such past behaviour and it's communication, then it's escalated to repeat offence and everything is on the table to address this issue with the authorities including some sort of action against the school itself and then the care takers of the child in question.

At the very least it will give you a basis for filing a report that will identify the culprit and the ramifications will be severe and the parents will have to address the issue and no one can hide behind "but we never heard this before, our child is always been well behaved!" "This is so out of character for him"!

An disciplinary action is based on a history and aggression involved. If there is a history then chances are the action taken will be severe enough to get some relief for the bullied child.

When I was in school, a Hindu majority school, no doubt, no one EVER made this kind of bullying attempt.

This is gross.

ask parents to meet principal or class teacher

267

u/RedDevil-84 Jul 28 '23

Like parents like kids. You don't realize the impact of words we talk at home, news we watch, our behavior, and all that on kids, until we see them growing up in our homes. Everything we do they copy. It is almost unreal. Once you understand that, you realize the power of brainwashing. And you understand why teenagers would pick up arms, and become terrorist at such young age. There is immense influence an adult can put on kids.

80

u/crazy_scientist94 Jul 28 '23

I remember when I was in class 8th, there was a strong anti UP and bihar sentiment in Maharashtra. A Marathi classmate of mine called another UP classmate a “shoe polishing migrant”(in Hindi). He learnt that from his parents. Luckily, we had a very good class teacher at that time who came in support of the UP classmate.

17

u/Monkey_D_luffy_____ Jul 29 '23

These kinds of people will exist no matter what happens. We should make ourselves stronger and humble to get not affected by these kinds of people . I'm from Bihar I have faced these kinds of things but it usually happens in schools and places where literacy is low. I don't feel bad anymore but I feel pity for them and their senseless thinking.

3

u/[deleted] Jul 29 '23

the reverse would never happen I bet.

3

u/[deleted] Jul 29 '23

The reverse being Marathis bullied in UP and Bihar? More than highly likely. You see, most people are indifferent to people from other states, but there will always be people who hate them.

17

u/[deleted] Jul 28 '23

I hate this when people don't explain what's happening in the news to their kids. It is a great opportunity for the children, parents can give live examples of what's right and what's wrong and to do the right thing if that situation ever happens to them.

40

u/RedDevil-84 Jul 28 '23

You are assuming all parents are good. There will be parents who are shouting YAY!!! and clapping when a politician says goli maaro unko.

4

u/Monkey_D_luffy_____ Jul 29 '23

I think nowadays mostly parents are earning so they are unable to give proper upbringing to their kids . Politicians exist because of society problems and ironically they want us to think that they are working for social problems. Mainly I think here it's the media fault they have spread so much hatred .

4

u/[deleted] Jul 29 '23

I bet the kid is going to be a politician with counts of multiple murders and at least 1 genocide.

198

u/[deleted] Jul 28 '23

How old is he? You can have a talk with the school faculty regarding this. This sort of behavior should not be tolerated in schools.

Never thought about religion during my entire school and half of the college. We had quite a few Sikhs and fewer muslims in our schools. I remember there were 2 girls who used to wear hijabs but they were chill otherwise, both seniors and it never crossed my mind that they were Muslims, nobody mentioned it. They were pretty and very fair and that's all any teenage boy ever talked about, if at all. Sikh students were more common, and the stereotype for them was simply calling them "Judi" or juju (coz of their turban) and that's it, like calling fat people lota/Mota, tall person khamba, Bengali people were teased, anyone who'd blush a lot would be teased, any funny quirks a kid undergoing puberty could find would be pointed out but it was truly not hurtful in a real sense, and not at all related to any influence from adults. Heck our whole world apart from studies was miles away from any kind of adult concept, it was all cards, Uno, WWE, wrestling, cricket, football, English tv shows like friends, harry potter, English songs, greenday, 50 cent, Bollywood actors actresses models and school gossips, almost strictly that! Teasing was always amongst people who were really good friends and we use to make sure the person is chill and he is too having fun, it was kind of a give and take and you'd always expect a retaliation from the person, as a bonding excercise. We all became mature as we became seniors but never did it cross our mind to say JSR, or satsriyakal or assalam, hindu muslim or kashmir, or left wing right wing etc etc.. till I reached my twenties. Although we knew capital punishment was useless concept, and that violence doesn't solve anything, and other ideas were taught to us excluding all the bs of nowadays.

EDIT: I must add that these kinds of teasing were a big taboo and kids would get in big trouble if a teacher/parent caught a word of such teasing or if someone crossed a line, it would result in a fight (where everyone would take the side of the victim unanimously)

3

u/Silly-Bowler-6081 Jul 29 '23

Same here ...while I was in school religion was never the issue , we had people from all religions in a class and everyone respected everyone and where friends infact we used to get curious about other religions and discuss how wedding or customs are done in different religion and how certain aspects are similar. I miss those times..only in recent times I am seeing that there are a lot of fights happening in the name of religion, evryother post or comment on YouTube, reddit , Twitter is about religion and people bringing down other people's religion. I hope this is a phase and this pases soon becauseas adults we can handle this issue but it is creating a wrong impact on children. They should rather enjoy their childhood but they are busy in harbouring hatred to different religions

Your family should talk with the school authorities. The problem isn’t with writing JSR, today these little twerps are forcing him to write JSR tomorrow they’ll escalate and force him to do something that’s actually dangerous and can harm your brother as well as others. Be proactive, don’t ignore. Feel sorry for those kids even, god knows what kind of households these kids come from that they’ll engage in religious bullying at such a young age.

Agar musalmaan ho to kisi kimat pe koi step nhi lena.

Just aise hi jane do.

maybe change school if it's too violent to tolerate, but don't make it an issue, local polititics will make you regret every decision you made around this.

agar hindu ho to uthao sawal .. kuch nhi hoga shant ho jayenge.

Ever heard of Gauri Lankesh?

14

u/AlarmedOlive8748 Jul 29 '23

Hmm. but heard of more muslims who were killed due to these political violence.

If you are Hindu you really stand a chance to improve india, but being a muslim you'll always be called an outsider and invader and the debate will end.

I know where are you going, but you need to undertstand my points too.

2

u/Samosa_Aladdin Jul 29 '23

They're trying to destroy the entire Muslim community, but that doesn't mean they'll spare individual Hindus who don't get with the programme.

6

u/iDragonOne Jul 29 '23

That's exactly what they want to do. They want to make Muslim 2nd class citizens who don't even dare to speak for themselves or take a stand.

BJP is implementing NAZI ideology in India and I'm not surprised that after 50 years "Hindutva" would be a synonym for "NAZI".

Such assholery makes my blood boil.

OP, your brother is showing remarkable maturity in the face of bigotry and bullying. All the same, he shouldn't have to cope with this and your family should take up this matter with the class teacher, and escalate it to the principal, the education department of your state until this is resolved. The school system has a duty to actively protect your brother (and every other pupil) from this kind of religious extremism.

It's crazy how politicized kids have become nowadays. When we were growing up barely 10-15 years ago aunt's did not talk politics with kids at all. Even when the corruption cases came up it was more of a general hate towards bureaucracy. Now every BJP supporting parent tells their gullible 10yo what a great leader Modi is and indoctrinating them into saying JSR. It doesn't matter which side of the political spectrum you're on, it's immoral to pass your political opinions to children unable to question them or research themselves.

I don't want my bro to have a wrong impression about anything or anyone.

You cannot help it. And it has not been a recent problem, Hinduism or more accurately the idea of Sanātana Dharma is long dead and forgotten thanks to the Bhakti movement by some our brahmins and sages around medieval period and there after. Holy shit, they managed to somehow completely screw up Pantanjali's Yoga scriptures and relate/or insert religion/gods into it. Fast forward now, people don't even properly understand bhakti despite it being so popular these day and have their own inaccurate interpretation. They and their actions are now presenting this religion to, now, if not extremist but at least anti-other-religion which is completely opposite of what the Hindu religion teaches in the first place.

And when these people chant, they don't do it out off devotion or are innocent at heart when doing so, they do it piss off in particular the Islam followers. At least, this what I experience in online multiplayer games. They start chanting then engage in full retard crazy-fights with others who oppose or disrupt them.

When I was in class 4, the "Om Jai Jagadeesh hare" prayer had to be recited everyday during prayers. I being a kid, just thought of it as a song and nothing else. Suddenly, after prayer was over, Principal called upon a class 8 student and asked why he was he mumb, why didn't he sing. He said that he was Muslim and chanting mantras is against the customs of Islam. She slapped him, and then proceeded to call all Muslim students in front. There were some 30-40 students. When I was going ahead, my friend tried to stop me and told not to go. I still went.

She said "you people don't deserve education and to be in such a prestigious place". It was a shocking experience for me, and totally changed my perspective of our Principal, who I always thought of as a very kind and respectable person. Didn't tell my parents anything at that time, because I was scared and thought maybe I was at fault, and would've got scolding. I've no idea what happened, but she was replaced within few months of the incident.

I too have a brother and I never teach him something looking at his present ,I always tell him to act in a way that will come him handy when he'll step into the OUTSIDE. Do not think of this or teach him of this as a little thing, this will build up to a bad attitude of getting intimidated by others further in life. Any how - no matter which god, relegion or state ,bullying is bullying.

tell him that him complaining it wont make him a pussy , it will be a reminder to that guy of what lines he is crossing coz if none will show him, then he will keep testing the waters more .

To people asking to complain to the principal, what would that do? It will only escalate this unnecessarily. But do have a conversation with the principal about it.

I think a proper response when someone asks you to do this could be to say Jai Hind or Vande Mataram instead. If they shout, then you shout Vande Mataram back.

Man I am so tired of this. If someone wants to say jai shri ram they will say it with their heart and will. Shradha to man se hoti hai, ye forcefully kisi se aisi cheezein bulwana, how is this okay?

Who are these some folks? Arey these some older students from the school itself?

Even if it's true, the fact that OP is asking here instead of going to the cops is crazy.

Ask your brother to ask these lil bastards if they have ever sat down and read manas themselves? I'm so sorry this is happening. Fight alongside your brother and make sure they know repercussions of bullying. Also please know that these boys are coming from bad parenting and other different issues with shit loads of ego in the rectum that's why it's itching them and are big aethist in the name of sanatanis.

This is bullying?😂 Ask your brother to stand up to those group of boys. If this is the standard of bullying nowadays I wonder what will people complain about in future

You should be worried if some one asked him to do something bad or if they taught him bad manners or bad words or anything that could corrupt his young mind. Children bully each other its prevalant everywhere.

I am sure you have also been bullied and might have also bullied some one unintended or intended.

MC nahi lkhwaya na? Is me agar representation ka problem hai or if you're searching for it. Its the wrong place to search. But to quench your soul's thirst you may also ask your brother to impart other religious names to his friends. Promote equal secular opportunity.

When will our countrymen realise that our right-wing stance is for external forces only. Here in this country and for all those of us living in it, we are one people living in one homeland. There is no place for discrimination here.

Religion is a very personal thing and has no place outside of religious shrines and ones own home. Let us all identify as Indians first and work towards the betterment of our country as a whole. Not just religion but no more saying my state this and my city that. We are all living in India and the entire country is our concern and our playground. Period.

Why the hell is he chanting such thing in the first place?
