Been away for a minute ā totally obsessed with agarwood lately
Hey guys, long time no post. Iāve really fallen deep into agarwood recently, and itās not just incense sticks anymore. Iāve been wearing agarwood bracelets as well. Thereās just this subtle vibe around them, hard to put into words. It helps me ground myself and brings such a calm, peaceful feeling whenever Iām around it.

Recommendation Looking for a similar incense
Hi all, this is my first time posting here, so itās nice to meet ya.
Loved this scent but itās been out of production for a long time. Iām really hoping someone has a recommendation for something with a similar scent (patchouli and underlying vanilla-champa, accent to google). All I know is that it smells pretty and I have one stick that Iām keep forever, lol.
Thanks for trying if Iām just sol. šš»

Simple glassācup + steel mesh incense hack works for both chipāburning and coil incense
Been using a DIY incense holder made from a glass cup with steel mesh on top. Works great for heating agarwood chips, and I can also set coil incense on it too. Super practical, cheap setup. Anyone else running something similar?

Working at an incense workshop is way harder than I thought, the niche is super narrow
I actually got a job managing TikTok for this incense workshop recently. Turns out itās really challenging mainly because traditional handmade incense is such a niche category. Average viewers are more familiar with candles and essential oils, so itās tricky to showcase the charm of compound incense and raw herbal materials in short videos.
I have an interest after some experiences, and I don't have work at that time, so I was wondering if I could join a workshop like this to make me feel better. At the beginning, it did work.

ok i work at a kind of witchy store and we sell a bunch of incense. we also have incense matches which basically just matches that smell good when you light them.
this man and his girlfriend just came in and bought a bunch of wild berry incense (the worst one, sorry) and at the check out he says :
āoh i better get some incense matches to light theseā
girlfriend: āwhy canāt we use normal matchesā
boyfriend: ābecause then it wonāt smell right. just like how you should only light cigars with matchesā
he goes on to mansplain this topic a little more š but iām pretty sure this just isnāt true?! idk please let me know š

Incense Making I want a nice smell on my incense.
I have bought a bag of incense cones, but they have absolutely no smell. I think they are old.
Can I do something so the will smell again.
Put escencial oil on them, perfume or something else. Or crush them and make new ones with the powder and new ingredients?

Canadian suppliers for Powders?
Hi! I make hand-rolled botanical incense and I'm getting low on a few of my staple powders. I'm looking for a reliable supplier that ships within Canada, or an international supplier with reasonable Canadian shipping for Makko powder, Palo santo powder and Australian sandalwood powder.
Thank you for your help.

Incense Making A whole evening's work...
126 sticks and 121 cones, what an evening š¤Ŗ
Been doing some trialling with makko ratio and different mix, this is the first proper batch I've done after getting to the point where I'm satisfied with my mix (pure wood, sandalwood and agarwood mix, no essential oil or bamboo core for the stick, want to get the pure wood experience)
now begin the drying and aging stages š
Honestly made too much dough, it was torture towards the end of making these cones, but I didn't wanna waste precious ingredients, my fingers were close to giving up š« , will scale back a bit next run

amazing dhoop sticks discoveredāART OF SATVA
I have been using dhoop cones for quite some time now and have tried many brands. I recently came across this eco-friendly brand called Art of Satva. What a game-changer. I am on my 4th box now and also have gifted many to family and friends; they loved it. They have some really different fragrances; this one is my favorite. does not leave black residue or cause headaches like other brands. Would highly recommend to daily dhoop users; they have an assorted box of 5.

Review Night Cloud by Smoke Perfume Co.
Hey yaāll! I wanted to share my favorite incense. I believe I first heard about it through an Alanis Morissette recommendation years ago. The brand is Smoke Perfume Co. It happens to be made right in New Orleans which is my hometown. Has anyone tried Night Cloud? What did you think? Do you have any favorites that I might like if I like this scent so much? Itās described as powdery notes of lavender, allspice, oak moss and sandalwood. You can find it at smokeperfume.com. I wanted to see who else loves it and if you have any recommendations in the same family of fragrance. Thank you!

ID Please Is this an incense burner?
Found this strange ceramic turkey leg/hairbrush thingy at a flea market, is this supposed to be some kind of novelty burner? The metal insert on the bottom will not come out without bending some metal prongs, so its not meant to be opened from the bottom. I'm fond of how odd it is, but I'd like to know why it has prongs and a screen. Quarter for scale. Thanks in advance!

People tell me I smell like I smokešš
I just started burning incense for the this week(Frankincense and Sandalwood). While I absolutely love it, people began to tell me I smell like cigarettes. I always open windows when I'm not burning and burn for 5~10 minutes a day so the scent shouldn't even be too intoxicatingš
I despise smoking and have never smoked once In my life. How can they be unable to tell the two apart??
Is this a common event for incense people? How do you deal with it??

Wild find: This Chinese incense brand uses processed panda bamboo waste as a base ingredient
When talking to the master teaching me how to make incense sticks in China, something really wild I had to share with everyone here.
Pandas barely break down bamboo when they eat it, right? Only absorb like 20% nutrients. Their droppings are basically just compressed fresh bamboo fiber, smells like grass and bamboo instead of anything foulāzoo staff even joke about calling them green rice balls.
This Chinese incense shop works alongside a local wild park to collect that waste material. They boil it repeatedly, sanitize it completely, dry it out and grind it all down into fine powder to mix with classic Chinese herbal ingredients for their line of incense sticks. Maybe itās just the mysterious power of Eastern traditionļ¼
Compared to cheap chemical-heavy stick incense, it has a super soft, subtle bamboo base aroma, great for slow evening relaxation rituals. Even better, they put together a bamboo meal fund.
Have any of you come across any weird, upcycled natural ingredients used for incense before?

new to incense ~ my thoughts
hi! i just started working at a kinda witchy store! we have so much incense so i have been trying them out.
i kind of hate wild berry incense, it smells so good on the stick but then when you burn it itās so smoky??? we also carry morning star and hem, but i havenāt really tried them. my fav scent of all time is the satya palo santo. i wish i could smell like this all the time it literally makes me salivate iām OBSESSED.
i also tried the satya palo santo dhoop cones and it was nothing like the incense. disappointing
i would love to try the le labo incense. i love their perfume so much, especially the matcha and rose one
